Saint Nine coffee has been on my list for a while, so I finally got to try it on a Friday morning. The place is small with limited seating, but has big windows that allow for a lot of light. If you sit by the window you also get to people watch while enjoying your coffee. I asked the barista which coffee (filter or latte) he would recommend, and after explaining what kind of coffee they were. He offered to let me try some of the filter and while I got the latte. Both were very delicious and unique in their own way. The latte was smooth and naturally sweet. The filter had a unique strong flavor. I enjoyed both very much. I visited Ozone coffee on a Friday morning, most people were getting takeout, and it was quite busy. I sat down for a bit, there is tons of seating inside and two tables outside. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere inside. It feels private enough to sit with a laptop but still enjoy the buzziness of a coffee shop. The filer coffee of the day was flavorful and recommended by the barista. It was a good balance between sweet and zingy. 47) CANDID COFFEE FLAGSHIP MAKATI - Since MOD coffee closed early, we moved to another cafe to wait at so my son could meet us. We walked all the way to Air Residences to go to @candidcoffeeph to try out their coffee and drinks. Despite the walk and the fact we got a little lost otw, Candid Coffee is a very nice cafe. It had bright, clean interiors, simple seating, and huge windows to let the natural light in. Plus, it was a pretty cold cafe, perfect for this draining weather. I diverted from my usual drink because it was too hot and ordered an iced Vietnamese cafe latte while Om had a strawberry shake. The verdict: I liked the coffee very much. It was brewed well, not bitter, had a good milk taste (they used Oatside milk) and the size was right for the price. The strawberry shake was also good, according to Om. We didn't have food to eat but my son had their Kouign Amann and he said it was pretty good. If you're around the Air Residences/Mall area, near Yakal street and just want to cool off with nice coffee, go here. 46) MOD COFFEE - While waiting for Matt to come back from his school outreach trip, I met up with @its_om_singh in this cafe to catch up. We haven't seen each other for more than 2 months and it was good to talk about all things happening in our lives, including his podcast channel @themoonlittalkshow and this cafe review IG account I have. We agreed to meet at @modcoffee.ph as I saw online it's one of the newest cafes in Makati so of course, we had to try it. I got my usual cafe latte and an almond croissant and Om got a Purple Iced tea and a chicken pesto sandwich. Ok, the coffee was bland. Not much of the milk taste and the coffee was flat. I don't put in sugar in my cafe lattes the first time so I can try it and I wish the brew was better. It didn't taste strong enough. The almond croissant was pretty good and it had a good sweet taste that wasn't overpowering. Om said his Purple Iced tea drink was ok and so was the sandwich. I think the draw to this place are the interiors because it is reminiscent of the 1960s Mod era of fashion, modern culture and architecture which was pretty nice. The staff are also pretty nice and chill. A downside though to this place too is that they close at 5pm on weekends which was a shame as it should be open longer. They said they would open it as a bar on weekends soon so maybe that would make the place better. Overall, the coffee was so-so but if you want a secluded place to meet friends as the place can seat about 15 people, then take a walk close to RCBC building to find this hidden spot. I hope the coffee improves when the bar opens up. I can still give this another try and probably taste their other drinks and pastries. #CICSpaces #cafereview

On Monday marked hubby-daddy’s birthday, and despite our plans for a family celebration in London, it turned out to be quite an adventure with our energetic 3.8-year-old boy stealing the spotlight. While we had hoped for a serene celebration, his boundless energy and curious spirit made it a bit more... dynamic, to say the least. Nevertheless, amidst the chaos, there were moments of joy and laughter. In the morning on our way to Harringay station, already stressed, we stumbled upon the charming Ciabo Food cafe. As we savored the best cheesecake we’ve ever tasted & a good coffee served with shovel-like spoons, the stress started melting away. The cafe-shop was extremely tiny & we hesitated to come in at first, but turned out it literally had everything we needed (delicious treats, wc, genuine hospitality). The owner, sensing our appreciation for fine flavors, generously offered us a sampling of their exquisite cheeses and Anatolian honey. We couldn’t resist purchasing a jar of honey to bring home, a sweet reminder of our delightful experience. 45) YARDSTICK CAFE SM AURA - This review covers the two times I visited this cafe which is today and last month. I was able to try 2 of their hot coffees in the times I've visited and there's no question that @yardstickcoffee lives up to it's name in good brews and taste. I had the Popcorn Latte today and their Now Showing: Dune Coffee a month ago. The latter is coffee they only make for this SM Aura branch because the cafe is beside the cinema! Both coffees were good, robust, not too sweet and nicely brewed. Price is steeper compared to other places and given the size but it's worth it. It's Yardstick, after all. What I love is the concept of this cafe. It's a standing one with a mini bar area to place your coffee at. Place is meant to be an area to get your coffee to go but if you want to stay for the lounge effect and EDM tunes, you can drink your coffee standing like those espresso cafes in Italy. ☺️ Loved the last pic I took. I mentioned to the baristas that I'll take a photo but will erase them from it (TY Google magic eraser) but weirdly enough they turned their backs on me. I asked why and they said they want people to see the logo on their shirts. Cute!!! Please pass by here and get some coffee if you don't have issues with the price and love good coffee like me.
