My first Oogie Boogie Night 🎃 What a treat it was 🍭 The event is from 6-11 with early entrance to DCA at 3pm. The characters are so unique at this event, some of which I’ve never seen in the parks. Each candy trail has an interactive character but the lines are pretty long (75% of them were less than 10 minutes). It’s not like extra ticketed events in the past where you walk up and grab candy. The parade was by far the best part of the event and like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Well worth the admission in itself! The merchandise wasn’t my thing, however they seemed to restock spirit jerseys and Loungeflys throughout the night. This was my first time meeting @dudettecolette (to my knowledge). I’ll never forget she came RUNNING up to us in the highest heels I’ve ever seen. The click-clack of the shoes only drown out by her profuse apologies for being late. She wasn’t really late. Is anyone really late at Disneyland? Anyway, this magical creature exited almost as quickly as she entered, prancing off to meet up with her boyfriend (now husband). I remember being so inspired by her independence and her kindness. She wasn’t at Dapper Day for the photos and the shmoozing, she was there to make memories. And as it turns out, so was I. This was one of my favorite Dapper Days. And she was part of it. She’s embarking on the next chapter of her life. And while I’m going to miss her living down the street from me, I know I will see her again, the only question is where and when. I love the beach people, most of you know that. But I’m secretly terrified of the ocean. The deep water, the idea of sharks and more importantly, big waves. I’ve only had a handful of surfing lessons, a sport I’d really like to master - if I could just get past my crippling fear of waves. And as Murphy’s law would have it, this particular day the waves were bigger, stronger and more powerful than normal. You could feel it the second you went in. The reason I have no footage is because the only boards that had clips for go pros had snapped that morning in the surf.
