#GivingTuesday đđœ Fr. Rey here - Vocation Director for the Archdiocese. We have a very good problem: we have outgrown the chapel at our formation house. Our chapel currently reaches capacity at twelve, and we are averaging over 20 at our âsmallerâ events. When the seminarians are in town, we have to either go to a nearby parish or get really creative with seating arrangements to fit 50-60 people for mass or adoration. It is a good problem to have, but a problem nonetheless. After some important research, we are kicking off our fundraising campaign to expand our chapel to create a space which will accommodate approximately 50 people with some room for additional flexible seating options. The cost-estimate is around $200K and we are hopeful that we can raise these funds and begin construction on this project as soon as possible. Any support you can give is greatly appreciated and will go far in our ability to build a dedicated space for our seminarians and discerners who are courageously responding to the Lordâs invitation. I continue to be inspired by the faith of Godâs people in our Archdiocese. You always go above and beyond in prayer, sacrifice, and generosity. Have you ever sent mail to the seminarians of your diocese? It's a fun way to support vocations. We've met a few of ours and sent this package of goodies today care of two of them with notes inside for them to share it around. Sending letters of support and appreciation are easy as alternatives to a package, but if you want to pack up a box to send these young men in the seminary, what to include? Snacks, pens and pencils, lint rollers, toiletry items like toothpaste and toothbrushes, and socks are just a few ideas. We're sending homemade sourdough in this box, too, because we know one of them likes it. Kids can draw pictures or make cards to include. Your diocese likely has a website where you can find names of the seminarians and addresses for the seminaries they are attending.
