A Sister Reflects: Journey of Self Discovery Discernment requires a foundation of self-knowledge. But! You might say, isn’t discernment about what God desires for me? Yes! And the best way to discover that is by recognizing who God has created us to be! We see this in scripture, when St. Paul writes in the Letter to the Ephesians that some are called to be apostles, while others have the gift to be a prophet or an evangelist, a pastor or teacher (Ephesians 4:11). St. Paul recognizes that not everyone has the same gifts, so the way each person lives out his or her vocation will be different. In another example of recognizing what gifts we have been given, St. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians about the value of celibacy, while acknowledging that many are called to marriage (32-40). These scripture passages remind us of the diversity of vocations among Christians, and the recognition that not everyone has the ability to live out every vocation. The challenge for us today is to recognize when a vocation may or may not be a good fit for who we are. Knowing who God has created us to be helps us to sort through our options. Sometimes, this means recognizing the values that we hold to be the most important. For example, some people, recognizing family is priority, might lead them to explore married life. Sometimes, knowing ourselves means that we have to recognize simply where we are happy. If we are happiest when we’re serving others then that can be a clue that is where we are called. Other important things to recognize are our gifts and talents. There are many different vocations and callings within the Church, and God calls us to a place where we can offer something for the world and find great joy. It’s Queen on Tears weekend!!! I’m more excited about that than Kings day. Happy #Koningsdag to everyone who is out there. 😂😂 It’s not a surprise to many people around me that I love Korea. In particular, #대한민국! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Anyway, back to Queen of Tears (#눈물의 여왕), I love how everyone and their grandad is watching it. All the actors are doing a good job. However, my prayer is that young ladies and men watching this do not romanticise the toxic behaviour. God has had to prune certain behaviours that I have learned from what I consumed from the world. What I would like to briefly touch upon is #discernment. Discernment is something I started to learn about since my consecration to God. I watched many teachings on it on YouTube and my favourite is from Proph @lesley.osei. We can all agree the world is crazy. And it is getting more and more difficult to tell what is good or bad because everything looks “good” nowadays but behind it can be very ugly and nasty things. You end up not knowing who to trust anymore. That’s why I love God and I love the gift He has given us. The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God in the same and He is able to tell us things and show us things that is connected to our PERFECT and GOOD unchanging God. One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is discernment. People often say I feel in my instinct or gut, I call it the Holy Spirit. He prompts me on what to say, do, see, hear, etc. He has been helping me live a life worry, drama, and stress free lately and I love it! Now what has this got to do with Queen of Tears? I wish Hae In ah had better discernment man. It’s like sis never learns. Always the same misunderstandings every time. This is what happens when you have so much noise around you and do not seek God in the secret and quiet place. Because God is not noisy. He is a gentleman and He does gentleman stuff. Stop getting used to the drama and noise in your life. Seek God for this peace and quiet. He leads us beside quiet waters and restores my soul #Psalm23. ”And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. The ultimate power couple: The lion and the lioness... I went to the NorCal Inspire Women conference with my girl @mystidanielswrites and heard the great @lisabevere. She brought a powerful message that was so relevant for our day. One thought provoking snippet I feel inspired to share: Did you know in the wild the lioness does the hunting while the lion follows and at the right time he goes in for the kill? It’s a partnership in their strengths. The lioness has the discernment to find the prey and the lion has the strength and agility to kill it. Not to say she doesn’t have strength, she does. It’s a different strength. I take that as a beautiful picture of marriage. A discerning woman who leads in her strength and a strong man who kills it with his strengths. The masculine and the feminine in balance. It reminds me of the old saying, the man is the head of the household but the woman is the neck! We’re connected and we need each other. Lately culture seems to be putting down men to elevate women. It’s not necessary to put anyone down to get ahead. We need each other. We especially need discerning women who lead the way and strong men to kill it and be confident in who God created them to be. After all, without men and women we won’t have men and women! Ultimately we need God! One of the many ways in which we, as humans, are controlled during our experience where on Earth is through the Media. 📺 📰 If we look carefully, we notice how most of the news coverage is negative, portraying suffering, injustices, conflicts… and there’s a reason for it. The more negativity is evident, as if ‘evil is winning’, the more people fall into the fear agenda. They get easily manipulated through fear. And then depression hits, paranoia, rage, anxiety… Feeling hopeless, as if there’s nothing one can do to change it. Though it is true that there are many wars and conflicts all over the world, that injustices tend to frequently happen here and there, in many ways… There’s truth coming to Light now. ✨ There’s a need to be more mindful, and observe the bigger picture. And it shows an increase in interest in spiritual subjects, a yearning for a connection with Earth, a return to the simple, to the organic… But it happens so that through the ‘media lens’, Good works silently while Evil is loud and clear. What few talk about is how they target the awakened ones. Especially the newly awaken, eager for knowledge, to change the world and other one’s points of view. The ones that understood more or less how the system/ matrix works, yet they are unaware of how it still manipulates them. I too, have fallen into this trap once, loving Light and rejecting darkness, hating the elites, feeling deeply hurt by the negativity in this world… Until figuring out that this has kept me in the same cycle from which I came from. The message here is to keep flowing in a higher frequency, to be connected to Light while recognizing the role of darkness in the polarity game. This doesn’t mean to support it but rather understand the existence of it and how to integrate a state that is above good and evil, in lack of better words. To truly give much of your unique soul gifts to others, seeing how you can be of service, instead of falling into the mental chaos they want you to fall into. Do not let the outer chaos define you, do not start a conflict inside of you as well. Even a simple word or gesture of kindness can add to the totality of Lightwork that is being done.

I am convinced that keeping a prayer journal is one of the best things we can do to hear God’s voice. I have the habit of reading my Bible and some sort of spiritual reading regularly. I also keep a small notebook to write in when I feel particularly inspired or to write questions or intentions for God. More than once, I have looked back through my journal and found answered prayers- situations that caused me great anguish at the time but are now resolved. Today, I laughed at God’s quick answer to my prayer. It’s been quite a while since I journaled. I came to ask Him a question I have been pondering after starting St. Faustina’s journal- and it turns out, He answered it already two months ago. God is so good. He does speak to us.
