There is a new favorite rose in town and her name is Neptune! She’s a hybrid tea rose. It’s like a Love Song rose, but bigger and blousier. Isn’t it gorgeous? #21n #shotoncanon #canoneosrebelt6 #canonef75300mm Siempre he creído que el paro nacional de 2019 es mucho mas significativo que el de 2021 en términos de la conciencia de movilización social en Colombia (El del 21 fue mas… dramático si se quiere debido a la pandemia, creo yo). Recuerdo que el primer día de las manifestaciones me paré sobre la esquina del parque de los hippies y empecé a tomar fotos de los marchantes que iban por la carrera séptima hacia el centro de Bogotá. Siempre me he preguntado como cambió su mirada a los movimientos sociales cuando experimentaron la violencia policial de ese día (Asumiendo que cambió) y también pienso como desde 2019, la movilización social se ha normalizado mas dentro de la vida pública colombiana. Comparo también el ambiente de esas manifestaciones con las marchas del pasado 21 de abril. Mal haría yo en negar el descontento justificado hacia muchas cosas de la actual presidencia (Descontento que incluso comparto), pero también es evidente que esa movilización en particular fue cooptada por una oposición belicosa y malintencionada que logró anular las voces que llevaron los cuestionamientos mas relevantes que se han venido haciendo a por ejemplo, la forma torpe de legislar las reformas sociales que propone Petro o su apatía deliberada hacia la implementación del proceso de paz de hace casi 10 años. Creo que hay una responsabilidad de nosotros de ejercer mejor nuestra ciudadanía, entendiendo que la participación en política no es un asunto de votar solamente sino que todas nuestras decisiones tienen unas implicaciones a nivel político que no pueden ignorarse y tomarlas con un espíritu crítico entendiendo la responsabilidad del estado como garante de derechos.

SOUND BEACH, NEW YORK - On Saturday April 20th 2024 at 11:30AM the Firehouse Restaurant & Bar hosted its grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony. The restaurant is named in memory of FDNY LT Joseph P. DiBernado. LT DiBernado was assigned to Rescue CO. 3 in the Bronx and served with the FDNY from 1995 until Black Sunday in 2005. LT DiBernado was also a volunteer firefighter with the Setauket Fire Department. The restaurant is owned by Joe and Barbra DiBernado the parents of LT DiBernado.
