Busy couple of weeks but MANY happy moments to share. We were honored to be a part of a special women’s event in our home state of Indiana. Thank you to Lynn Church of Nazarene for hosting several county churches for an evening of (a little music) and sharing. Charlene was honored to be asked to share. There were many ladies who we have strong ties to as well as some from college years, and even some new friends. This past weekend we were able to go to Olivet and enjoy their spring production of “Beauty and the Beast.” Many fun moments and everyone did a great job! (We know they work VERY hard on their productions.) Emma added some art pieces for the stage, the “stained glass” rose and a portrait of Gaston as well as hair dresser for several of the lead cast members. We were thrilled to have Emma sing with us for our two concerts on Sunday. It was a joy to minister with Pastor Tommy McCann at Hoopeston Naz and Pastor Ken Bushey at Manteno Nazarene (Illinois). Thank you for hosting AV. It was thrilling to discover that Pastor Ken was Udell Moss’ grandson, (that name might ring a bell) and sweet wife, Jennifer (Garry Pate’s daughter). It was also good to see my cousin Bethany, and her family, as well as a good friend of Charlene’s, Marci Reynolds’ mother, Carol Foor Watson. ALSO...we were able to catch lunch with our dear friends, the Stevensons. Our children grew up singing at churches and camps in MO and now Emma and their son, Cooper attend Olivet together. We kicked off the Christmas season with six back-to-back Christmas concerts. Beautiful people and decorations to match. We were generously hosted by Nazarenes at a banquet on Friday, a Christian Church on Saturday, and Wesleyan on Sunday morning. During our Sunday meal in between venues, a Nazarene pastor and wife walked by and tossed dinner money on our table…and then some. (The folks at Greensburg (IN) Community Nazarene have a very special pastor and wife 😉) Sunday evening we were at the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Monday and Tuesday ushered in two more banquets at the beautiful Higher Ground Conference Center also hosted by the Nazarene denomination. The last concert, we lost Charlene due to a lingering cough that landed her in the bus with laryngitis. We still had strong book sales and Luke was the “runner” to and from the bus for signing. But…the Fab Four conquered with great strength and confidence and we were so proud of Johnny, Anna, and Luke for stepping up to the plate. They all earned their way into three brand-new Sennheiser cordless mics so get ready for some interpretive dancing added to our ministry.
