This is the beautiful Hattie. She lost her sight in both eyes due to Glaucoma, the past 6 months have been a learning curve for Hattie with her owners also learning a new version of training for her. As you can see Hattie still has all her understanding of what she knew prior to loosing her sight but her nose and her hearing has enhanced giving her a new sense of confidence. At the beginning of the year I was in ruff shape. I was breathing heavy, could barely eat or get up. I lost about 20% of my weight which is a lot for someone my size. But hey, look at me now. ISO “there’s no other place I’d rather be” moments. I heard a colleague call them that last year. It stuck with me. These moments are in the micro everyday moments - for me (like getting nestled in my bed, or playing with my kids) and in the less ordinary moments (like enjoying special outings). I’m searching for more of ‘the less ordinary’ right now. More special moments with loved ones and dear friends. The kind that might leave you feeling tired the day after, but the best kind of tired. I recently attended a concert by the @thepianoguys with my dad (for those who don’t know, go find out for yourself how incredible their music is). I sat there with a smile ear to ear the entire performance and found myself replaying in my head, “there’s no other place I’d rather be”. The music was magic. What an incredible sensory experience. I’ve been studying to their music for at least a decade. My nervous system thanks me when I listen to their music. A real delight to finally see them live. And of course, getting to share this with my dad was something special. My motto of 2024… Lean into what brings you joy. Do it often. Even if you’re temporarily tired.
