Having some fun with stash minis from advent calendars purchased a couple of years ago to make the #jethrocardigan by #tanisfiberarts . I think it’s accurate to say that the majority of minis (perhaps 95% or more) are from #grenouillecoyarns and the remaining are from #sweetskeinomine and #chelseayarns. SHE'S DONE! ~2.5 years ago @spinjaxknits took me to Black Mountain for SAFF weekend. I was just a bb knitter at the time and had only a couple scarves and one hat under my belt. The knitting community was so welcoming! I scooped up some lovely yarn and never looked back. I got the yarn for this sweater that weekend, which the lovely @sparkleknitter spent so much time helping us pick out (ty! 😘) Something Cozy is so so good and Chelsea Yarns duets make a fabric with such a nice drape. It's very comfy and would be so nice to have it in a neutral color, I might have to make another soon. I am obsessed 💕. It's the perfect TV knit. I love the high-low transition from front to back and and the drop shoulder sleeves!!!!!! And no I didn't have time to weave in ends. I'll do that later. Chapter 6 Lives of Spicy Cowboys. Vern rode over this morning with a wagon of cowboy stuff for the New Year’s Eve hoedown at ranch. In the wagon, along with coffee, hay, flour, chaw, whiskey and party balloons was the newly minted Soicy Cowboy. “Howdy partner, nice to see you again. You coming to the party?”. I asked. “Sorry to say but I am moving on from here. Just caught a ride with Vern this far and now I am taking the wagon and heading back to Tucson to live the life of a true Spicy Cowboy,” he replied. I looked him ornery like in the eye and said, “well fella, you got your Jack of Diamonds, your Soicy Cowboy Membership card and enough coffee to get you to San Francisco…safe travels and don’t lose your hat,” I snarled. “Thanks partner,”. he shouted as he began riding away. “Farewell Spicy Cowboy,”. Day 25 advents! I’m traveling right now but I made sure to bring my daily advents with me. It’s been such a pleasure to open #beehiveyarnsadvent2023 - I believe this is my 2nd time ordering her advents and each time it’s been a beautiful experience. @chelseayarns day 25 is the colorway MOMA. It’s my first time getting her advent and after this, likely not the last. Each day of #chelseayarnsadvent2023 was unique, true to Chelsea’s color sense. @grenouilleco Day 25 is “Pond” and ties up this wonderful gradient calendar together. This is my 3rd year getting #grenouillecoyarnadvent and I just love her moody and serious palette, she nails it every year. @havirland Day 25 of Merry Cagemas is a quote from the 2021 movie The Pig: “We don’t get a lot of things to really care about”. It also came with a cute handmade glass pig stitch marker, and I thought this advent was so well done, so unique and each color was just an art piece by itself. I loved reading those notes on the movie (or Nick Cages many fabulous jackets).
