Legacy By: Laura Pavlov First of all, this was my first LP book, and I'm hooked. I've bumped my entire audiobook "tbr" to finish this series. Hopefully, before May 1st 🤞. Anyways, these are super fun enemies to lovers / grumpy sunshine romance was super emotional, suspenseful, and swoony AF. I loved Harleys "kick ass & take names" attitude. Her desire & perseverance for owning her own business and then rocking the ever loving shit out of it was so fun. I love that Ford tried super hard to like be a hard ass but like failed miserably because of some "processed sugar". 😂 The emotional roller coaster that was Harleys background - ugh I definitely felt teary eyed a few times. Then the drama with the kidnapping, the fist fights, and the dead beat daddy, GOOD LORD. Yum Yum. This was seasoned so well. Excellent book, Laura. You're a *new to me* Author, and I'm go glad that I finally got around to one of your books. I listened via audiobook on Spotify. 275 pages of reading about a 35 year old mediocre male comedian whining about his breakup was 175 pages too many. Andy, the main character in Dolly Alderton’s novel Good Material, has the complexity of a Domino’s Pizza with a pint of cheap beer. I wanted to shake him and tell him to put on his big boy pants and stop obsessing over his lack of direction and failed relationship. The twist at 90% of the book read, was hearing the perspective of his ex-girlfriend, Jen, and her unsurprising reasons why she ditched him. Perhaps the story would have resonated with me more if they’d be given equal time? book review - 5💫 Whenever I read an Emily Henry book, it feels like it was personally written for me. Like she can see into the deepest parts of my mind and put them onto the page in a way where I don’t hate what I see. This time I could really see myself in both Daphne and Miles. I love how after two heavy hitters with Book Lovers and Happy Place, this one is much more of a traditional romcom. But that doesn’t stop the themes of family hardships and finding yourself outside of a relationship from being explored. Daphne and Miles through friendship were able to help each other so much. I think the deep friendships Emily Henry’s couples tend to form make their romance so much stronger. This one will hit hard for the girls who want to feel chosen by the people around them, especially in romantic relationships. And for the girls who have trouble opening up and trusting people with their feelings. I haven’t read a single Emily Henry without crying honestly.

It’s been 9 weeks since THE RIP came out and almost 9 months since THE SHALLOWS and it’s only taken since last week to finally come down, burrow down, knuckle down and write ✍️ (What I’m meant to be doing) I feel like I’m deep in the rhythm now of book 4, at 28,000 words with most of it plotted out. But with these first 28k words, there’s been no expectations, no plotting happening. It's been ages since I read Wool, so Shift by Hugh Howey might have suffered a bit from me having forgotten plenty of bits and pieces. I loved Wool, but only enjoyed Shift. I don't need a lot of action or suspense to book me, I love books like Becky Chambers or Andy Weir. So this being more a flashback and "how did we get here?" and the people than any actual plot progression was not my problem. However I just didn't really click with the characters as much as I should have, and that made Shift feel a bit long at times. I still live the world and idea (though not everything made sense for me), and I read it in just two days. 📚The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson📚 As a fan of Jackson’s short stories I chose to read We Have Always Lived in the Castle awhile ago but really didn’t care for it at all. This caused me to put off this one that I had really really hoped I’d like after watching the show. I ultimately heard much more favorable opinions of this on audiobook than Castle so eventually decided to give it a try. I’m really glad I did! While it was nothing like the show which was alright by me and unbeknownst to my much younger self the Liam Neeson movie, The Haunting, was an adaptation of the book. 🤦‍♀️ My younger self was not too bright sometimes. I loved that movie though and I ended up knowing most of what was happing or going to happen. The book was enjoyable anyway. I did not see that ending coming and it really made the book for me! Coucou Booksta ! Un hiver pour te resister, Seasons tome 2. A : @morganemoncomble ME : @hugonewromance J’ai adoré ce livre. Orion et Lily ont une relation trop mignonne avec la trope Enemies to lovers que J’ADORE ! Le fait qu’Orion s’inquiète toujours pour Lily sans forcément le lui dire c’est adorable, et Lily qui semble toute naïve et gentille a en fait un caractère qui se dévoile peu à peu pendant l’histoire. Comme toujours, je ne suis pas déçue de Morgane (slay queen 🙇🏻‍♀️) Le tome 1 de la saga (un automne pour te pardonner) je n’avais pas trop kiffer mais en fait chaque livre est une histoire à lui tout seul donc ça rend la saga très intéressante autant au niveau de la diversité mais aussi au niveau des thèmes abordés. It was a beautiful day for a trip to my local library! ☀️ I ended up picking up these two - they looked like nice light reading. Have any of you read either of these? What did you think? I also swung by Goodwill and picked up Comfort and Joy by Kristin Hannah! Looks like a short but sweet Christmas story (I’ll be saving this one till Christmas time obviously). Anything from Kristin Hannah is an auto-buy for me!

Nie sądziłam, że moja działalność na bookgramie w ciągu tych 2 lat (28.04.2022) tak się rozwinie i nabierze takiego tempa, chociaż profil powstał w czasach, kiedy nie było wcale łatwo się wbić (wiadomo przez niekorzystny algorytm) tak jak było w przypadku kilkunastu lat temu, kiedy małe konto w dość krótkim czasie dochodziło do kilkunastu tyś obserwujących. Przez te dwa lata mojej działalność w bookmadiach poznam naprawdę świetne i wartościowe konta z którymi mam miarę dobry kontakt i mam nadzieje, że kiedyś dojdzie do spotkania w realu. Jestem mega wdzięczna kilku osobom za pomoc w tworzeniu i wsparciu mojego konta w ciężkich czasach na bookgramie (@leniwyczytacz ,@camilia_reads ,@oczytana.panda ,@goosediaries_ @wika.around.books ,@ksiazkizsercem ,@miedzystronnik @whynotdouble @nela.reading ,@thou.sandlives ). Sadzę, że to była najlepsza decyzja ją mogłam podjąć w swoim życiu🙂 . Dziękuję za każde polubienie, komentarz, udostępnienie czy wiadomość, którą mi wysyłasz jest mi naprawdę bardzo miło ♥♥.Dzięki też takim rzeczom dokładasz do mojego profilu kolejną cegiełkę, dzięki której jesteście częścią tej wspanialej społeczności, którą od dwóch lat wspólnie budujemy. W ciągu ostatnich dwóch lat działalności też starała się dołożyć swoją własną cegiełkę w różnych wydarzeniach, których brałam sama udział.
