Angela Kordonis grew up in Atlanta, where she volunteered at a food festival honoring Greek recipes and heritage. When she moved to Charleston and joined Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 30 years ago, she felt right at home when she discovered the Lowcountry church hosted its own Greek festival. She has volunteered at the Charleston Greek Festival ever since. Now in its 53rd year, the annual event is the Lowcountry's oldest food festival, drawing a record 30,000 people to the church's 30 Race St. home in 2023.
