🛍️ We average about 200 birthday bags every month, delivered to our seniors who live in Ohio. The bags are decorated in our offices, created by volunteers with markers, crayons, and stickers, and then filled with special gifts and treats. Our drivers deliver the bags to clients who have upcoming birthdays and sometimes they even sing "Happy Birthday!" Volunteers deliver bags every Tuesday and spend a few minutes with the seniors, opening the bags with them and even taking a pictures of seniors wearing a birthday hat or glasses! These pictures are then displayed in the volunteer room so everyone in the office can enjoy the celebrations! Decorating birthday bags is a great opportunity for individuals, corporations, and churches to do in their own space and then drop off to the Meals on Wheels office. Interested in volunteering? This on-demand trailer delivery service provides all the equipment necessary for a neighborhood clean up. We're partnering with Cleanup Collective to make our monthly obLITTERator sessions even better so we can remove more litter from more parks with more volunteers! Volunteers were out in full force last Friday! While hundreds of volunteers worked in our parks as part of the Mayor's Corporate Challenge, this crew from Mill Creek Alliance, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, and Cincinnati Parks Foundation worked together to clean up an illegal dumping site at the bottom of Clifton Avenue along Kenard. Kudos to this hard-working group who removed countless bags of trash, furniture, and more.
