One of the biggest things I've learned through the last several years of therapy is to feel my feelings, and not assign anything to them. We often decide that there are good feelings (happiness, excitement) and bad feelings (anger, sadness), and we feel guilty for not feeling the good feelings all the time. It's not realistic to feel "good" feelings all the time, and as my therapist likes to remind me, feelings aren't good or bad. Feelings are neutral, and just feelings. And if we don't feel them, we don't get better. Often, we feel worse. Feel your feelings, all of them.
