The kids hadn’t been to Disney since spring break so it was time for a visit! (Cal had school so I have to take him after school soon!) We parked at Epcot because parking at the TTC is never fun. We monorailed over the TTC and MK. We got there right at park opening and went straight to Haunted Mansion per Cameron’s request. After that we did 4 more rides and treated ourselves to a Pineapple Vanilla Swirl Dole Whip! I only purchased one to share but the kind cast member gave Cameron his very own Dole Whip and he was SO excited about it! Once we finished those we headed back to Epcot to play in the Journey of Water and grab some sodas from Club Cool. We had a great morning and this is why I highly recommend rope dropping. Day 16 Was my Club cool training day. Unlike my training for Creations Shop my Club Cool training was all done in one day so best believe the day was jam-packed. We started in the kitchen and learned all about the different cleaning products and which ones we needed to use for what machine/situation and how we would be cleaning things at the end of the day. We then moved into the actual store and learned all about how to use the drinks machine and the ice-cream machine. We each had a practise and our trainers let us give our practise ones away for free to children who were walking around the store. After that we went downstairs and learned all about the Club Cool merchandise stock and where it was kept and also learned how to change the syrups for the different taster drinks. After our break we did some more reading of policies but this time ones specific to Club Cool. After we had read those club cool had closed for the day so it was time to put our training about cleaning to use. We cleaned all of the nozzles for each of the taster drinks machines as well as the trays underneath and THEN we got to make our own coke float drinks while we were reading policies upstairs. Coke floats are not really that common in England, I’d actually only ever had one while on holiday so this was a blast from the past. It was so nice to have a little treat while we were working our way through the more boring part of the training and it definitely helped with the heat. The ice cream was on another level in terms of its sweet vanilla-y flavour and its lovely smooth texture. We finished our training day with a clean of the room behind the drinks machines. It was SO hot and I’m happy to report that that was the one and only time I had to go in that room because I don’t think I would have been able to handle going in there a second time. Flashback Friday! 4 weeks ago we were at Epcot and finally got to try Club Cool. This is where you can sample a number of Coca Cola drinks from around the world for free. One of the drinks is Beverly, which is a discontinued beverage from Italy. Apparently, it has a kind of Marmite reputation - you either love it or hate it. I tried it and actually quite liked it. Day 13 was my third day of training. In my role as a merchandise assistant we were trained in different ‘sub-roles’ for example as floorstock, runners, expeditors and on the registers. Day 3 was all about being a runner, which is basically collecting hangers and tags from behind the registers and then taking them down to the stock room, sorting through them and putting them onto racks. You are also in charge of making sure that the tissue, packing paper and bags are all stocked up- exciting, I know. Being in training was starting to get on top of me though, not because of the training itself but because of the times I was in training from and until. Because of the time difference between the UK and Florida my family were already at work by the time I woke up for the day and were already asleep by the time I was finished for the day, I also couldn’t text my family because my trainer did not know how to connect me to the Wi-Fi and I couldn’t get a good enough signal on my breaks to simply text. I therefore hadn’t had a proper conversation with my family in a few days and although that doesn’t seem like a big deal, it was really hard being so far away and not really having any contact. But I finished work slightly earlier on this day and that was all I needed to be able to have a five minute conversation with my mum. I literally ran off the bus and called her straight away because I’d got a text saying that she was going to sleep so I didn’t know if I would have called her back in time. When she picked up I just burst into tears (embarrassing myself here a bit, I know 😂) I managed to pull myself together and let her know that nothing was wrong I was just feeling overwhelmed about not being able to speak to her. Day 12 was my second day of training. It was more of a day of general training on the computers, watching videos and answering questions on health and safety, the Disney way, cash handling etc so we didn’t really go to Creations or Club Cool. The training took HOURS because there were so many modules to get through so we pretty much spent all day in cast services and then our second day was finished. When I got back to Flamingo crossings there was a housing pizza night event happening so I quickly got changed and then hopped on a bus to East campus. They were handing out free slices of pizza and soft drinks so I grabbed mine and then went to go find my friends who let me know there was a meet and greet happening inside which I of course wanted to go to. Me and two of my friends ended up waiting in line for at least an hour to meet safari Mickey and Minnie (getting in our practice for the parks haha) and in the end we got some cute pictures. Day 11 was my first day official day of training in my location- Creations shop/Club Cool! I had a great day of meeting people and getting to know my location. I had already been messaging with a lovely girl who had the exact same training schedule as me and we became great friends. We met in cast services and shortly after meeting each other we met our trainer. Our trainer took us to costuming where she showed us where the costumes for our locations were. We grabbed a few to try on and after getting the right sizes grabbed a few more so we had enough for a full week of work and then checked them out. We then went over to our location and she introduced to as many people as we could find, we met other trainers, coordinators, leaders and other cast members, we also helped a few guests with finding certain items and did a few ‘put backs’ to maintain the Disney look in store. It was very overwhelming because guests didn’t necessarily know it was our first day so when they were asking us questions they expected us to know the answers. After work me and my friends decided to check out a McDonald’s we had seen a couple of times. One of the first things I noticed when I first got to America, and I mean literally on the taxi ride from the airport to Allstar Music, was the difference between American and British McDonald’s’. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen some cool McDonald’s’ in England before but I’m not exaggerating when I say that every single McDonald’s I saw in Florida looked so cool and I was in awe to the point where the taxi driver was laughing at me. At first we ended up at a somewhat normal looking McDonald’s but after paying for yet another taxi we eventually got to the McDonald’s we were looking for. It had an arcade, a play area, fries bigger than your head, pasta meals, pizza cooked in their own pizza oven all of which was strange to see but cool to experience. Tried flavors around the world at Club Cool in Epcot. I thought there would be more to try, but it was still fun. Every station had the same flavors, and many of the dispensers were empty. Beverly is an Italian one that basically tastes like tonic water. Very bitter, and not something I'd expect people to regularly consume. Bonbon was very coconut forward, and good. Country Club from Dominican Republic was also tropical but had passion fruit or something else citrus. Might have been my favorite. Smart Sour Plum from China tasted like soy sauce. Too salty. The Russian cucumber Sprite was interesting. I didn't mind the cucumber flavor, but it was very sweet and syrupy. #disneyfood #clubcool

We were just watching Chris and Owen from @eartoearmagic in a club Cool at Epcot. They popped in for a Russian Sprite, this is Sprite with Cucumber. Now…hear me out.. we tried this and it was BANGING! Loved it! In 2022 we met up with Chris and Susan at the Dahlia lounge in the Gran Destino hotel for a snacks and drinks, we were telling the server about the Sprite at Epcot and he was intrigued with the idea. So.. he popped off and made one for himself and HE LOVED IT! 😂😂 he came back to the table with a very WDW version of the drink.
