Notice the Boardwalk Bakery in the background (sigh 🥹) has now turned into the Boardwalk Deli. We didn’t have time to try Carousel Coffee or the new ice cream shop this year, but I guess that’s just one more reason to go back!

The Book of Fire, Christy Lefteri ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2024 Goal: 18/60 Too many stories made into one! I am usually a big fan of Lefteri’s detailed description and how she paints the picture. But in this case I felt lost! There were too many topics and I had a hard time understanding why it was all in this book. The story jumps from present time where you follow the grieving process of a family that has lost so much in wildfires that devastated their town, and past time on how they escaped the fire recounted as a children’s story. In the middle there is a potential murder, was the fire intentional or caused by global warming and so many other things that are really hard to decipher. I can’t say I disliked the book either! Often found at festivals and street processions, Rara is a musical tradition from Haiti that’s part of the of the musical history and melting pot of New Orleans. Depending on traffic, buses can take 15-25 minutes to reach the Magic Kingdom. 🪩Epcot – Epcot can be entered via the International Gateway. Exit through the back of the resort, follow the path to the right, and enjoy a 5-minute stroll to the entrance to World Showcase. If you’d like to save some steps, you can also take a boat from the dock on Crescent Lake. 🎥 Disney’s Hollywood Studios – There are three ways to get to Hollywood Studios from BoardWalk. ✈️ Walk towards EPCOTs International Gateway where you will find the Disney Skyliner- Bonus: The Skyliner can hold strollers! 🚤 Take a boat. Theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs can easily be accessed from Yacht Club in a variety of ways. 🏰 Magic Kingdom – The Magic Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the bus stop at the front of the hotel, located between Beach Club and Yacht Club. This week’s resort spotlight: Yacht Club Resort Walt Disney World resorts offer family-friendly activities to enjoy on your non-park days or even before/after your day in the parks! Let’s take a look at what’s available: 🤫 Quiet Pool- Want some low-key pool time? You’ll find that at the Quiet Pool. The Quiet Pool has its own supply of towels so no need to bring your own. Life jackets are also available, however, there is no lifeguard at the Quiet Pool. Added bonus - laundry facilities are also located in this area. Wash, Dry, Swim! 🏝️ The Beach- Just a short walk from the pool, you’ll find a lovely sand beach along Cresent Lake. Be sure to check this spot out in the evening as there are beautiful views of Boardwalk Resort and you can even catch some of EPCOTs fireworks. You cannot swim in the lake, however, there are benches and beach chairs in the sand for your enjoyment. 🔥 Campfires-Nothing says family time like campfires and S’MORES! Look for a campfire on the beach in the evening, close to the Stormalong Bay slide area. If you choose to make a S’MORE, Cast Members have supplies for a small fee or you can bring your own graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows. Sometimes there is even a Sing Along! 🍿 Movies Under the Stars- What a wonderful end to a magical day! Movie titles and times can be found on the Recreational Activities Flyer, found at Guest Services. Movies are often on the big grass yard close to the beach or sometimes on the beach. Bring your snacks and drinks for an evening of Disney Movie Magic! 🎾 Tennis Courts- two-lit, hard surface courts are available to guests wishing to get in a game while on vacation. Complimentary equipment rental for guests is available at the Stormalong Bay Towel Window. 🏐 Volleyball – a sand court is located on the Beach Club side of the complex. Equipment use is complimentary and may be obtained at the Stormalong Bay Towel Window. 💪 Ship Shape Health Club-Guests 14 and older, can enjoy a workout while on vacation. Equipment includes Nautilus, Hammer Strength, and aerobic machines as well as a steam room and sauna.
