This is another new, small painting in progress that I thought I'd mock up on a wall with @canvyapp to see if it helps me work out what it needs. I find the start of a series of paintings really exciting, but then I get a bit daunted at this middle stage. 💛🥚🍳 I recently had the joy of painting a ceramic egg for @fourthwallfolkestone’s auction to help support their fantastic work Fourth Wall Community Company was set up with the aim to make art and creativity more accessible and less exclusive, with a focus around discussing mental health 🩵 I love that their programmes are ‘pay what you can’, helping everyone get creative and bringing awe and inspiration to those that night not normally have access to these types of spaces 〰️ The funds raised in the auction enabled them to keep running their programme for the community, and it’s a pleasure to support their mission 〰️ I was one of almost 100 artists to anonymously paint a one- off egg, and I’m delighted that I can now reveal this was mine! 🥚💛🥚💛🥚 #fourthwallfolkestone #supportlocal #inclusiveart #artandmentalhealth #eggpainting #creativity #patternjoy #colourjoy

Hand printed felt, sun glasses / glasses cases on the desk today. I am not sure what inspired me to make these from a stash of felt off cuts - certainly not the weather. These cases are good for when you want to use a small bag (or no bag just pockets) but your regular hard box glasses case is too big. I can’t be the only one that has this problem? Stencil screen printed with jewel bright colours, because colour is joy, each one is slightly different! Left over paint 🎨 I'm learning a technique where I can use up paint from my swiped pieces 🖼 After I swipe I usually still have a nice dollop of paint on my tool! So I'm collecting that and will create some small works using that left over paint 😁 Stay tuned to see them as I create ✨️

I have new greetings cards of some of my paintings! These are available exclusively at @theclaremonthove until the end of May, along with prints and paintings as part of the @artistsopenhouses. After that any remaining will be sold via my website. The show has been curated by @coraliebanks and the hotel is on the Hove trail. ✨✨✨NEW WORK DROPPED ✨✨✨ I’m doing things a little differently this time… instead of releasing a cohesive collection, I’ve released just a handful of paintings that I’ve been hanging on to because I love them so much. I’m finally ready to set them free! “Late Spring” This 20x24 acrylic on canvas painting, explores the tender moments of spring. Blooms open and precariously hold on to their floral splendor for just a little longer. Dewy leaves droop and curl. My study room, aka the green room! I’m slow to get rooms complete, letting them breathe, speak to me, allowing for synchronicities in finding the right pieces of furniture (mostly on Freecycle!!), moving stuff around… feeling into the right vibe and colours… this one is finally coming together beautifully. It’s a multifunctional space - my study and creative room (to do any (amateur!) art and upcycling and creative projects, work on my wellbeing biz (which is always creative too and requires being able to be calm and connected to my truth and inspiration, sometimes I also see clients in here for 1:1 sessions (as well as in another room I use) AND I also occasionally Airbnb this room (it’s a sofa bed) or have my step kids or niece and nephew to stay in it! So, IT HAS TO WORK HARD!! So I chose this beautiful green for call yet bit zingy for uplifting and inspiring and motivating me with work, and this stunning calming muted orange ceiling (peachy but more orange) as it’s so soothing and relaxing for when u are lying in bed and going to sleep, or meditating… oh yes this room is also my meditation room AND where I occasionally work out. Hard core multi use!! I will share more of this space soon as finishing it up (for now!) and working on a beautiful desk / dressing table that I got on Freecycle! So exciting. After a tough year, losing my mum end of last August who my life revolved around for a long time, I have been in hibernation. But slowly, in my own time, I am re-emerging. Out of my comfort zone here, but we’re taking part in the fab #myshoplife24 campaign and here we are (I am) on Day 1 My Shop! I live in this building with my husband, 4 children and 2 dogs - we bought this amazing Tudor house in Battle just over 5 years ago because it was already a part-commercial property and I could fulfil my shopkeeper dreams … I LOVE shopping, have always had quite a clear idea of what I like and had felt for years that I’d love to put the two together … DickieBird Homestore opened in September 2019 and now I can shop for the shop, which is perfect! My background is really in running restaurants and cafes so I was keen to have an element of that here too … so we are also a tiny (but fabulous) cafe - you can sit and drink coffee, chat, meet a friend (or a stranger) in amongst the shop goodies … this helps make the shop feel like a real community hub which I also LOVE @pencilmeinshop
