I have been silent on my personal platform on but I’m ready to start sharing my story. 📖📖 I want to let you in on a project I have been working on the last few weeks~ it’s been a rough month for me and my family, so being able to put forth energy in this has been a blessing. On May 4 from 12-7, I would like to invite you to experience my efforts of curating a “community market” where 16 handcrafted artisans will gather to offer their goods. We have live music that will be performed throughout the day and yummy cheesesteak goodness from @thebosscheesesteak . Most importantly this is a fundraiser for the SPCA. This no kill shelter is celebrating their 36th year in operation. (Fun Fact- I got my first cat “Little” from them 30 years ago when I was living in Austin.) Little did I know that 30 years later I would be living in this community, raising a family and starting a business!! To make this a successful event, I am asking all my local friends and family to come out and say hello. It will also be @esscential_jewelry 7th anniversary! Unsure of her demeanor, but wanting to help her, they called our shelter asking for advice. We suggested they contact our rescue partner Ferallife Guards who are experts at safely rescuing stray cats. This cat was taken to the vet and found to have burned paws from being out on the hot asphalt. She recovered in a foster home and over time became a sweet and loving girl, although she remained very shy. Today June is living as a spoiled princess in her home and never has to worry about being injured and alone again. In the fall of 2023 we took in our LARGEST 🐱 abandonment case in our 36 year history!!! Someone had left 17 cats and kittens in crates at our front gate. They all needed full vet care including flea treatment, spaying/neutering, and vaccinations. Thankfully once again we were able to reach out to local shelters to help with the intake, and our generous supporters came through with kitten supplies such as food and toys. ALLof the kittens were adopted into loving homes because we were able to gather the resources we needed from the community 🥰 The need hasn't stopped. Every week we adopt our cats and dogs and every week we take in new homeless animals that need our help. After I adopted him I took him to my vet for an introduction but they already knew him despite the clinic being all the way in South Austin!. What a small world as the vet tech at the clinic is the person that had found him in South Austin and because she knew the CTSPCA shelter director at that time she was able to get him into CTSPCA. Logan took advantage of the nice weather we’re having to go visit the ducks. He calmly watched as they swam quite near and even wandered up into the grass a bit right in front of him.
