Origen del son El son cubano es un género musical que surgió a principios del siglo XX en Cuba, específicamente en las regiones de Oriente y La Habana. Es una mezcla de diferentes estilos, como el contradanza, el Danzón y el Bolero, con influencias africanas y españolas. El son cubano es conocido por su ritmo distintivo y su énfasis en la percusión y las voces melódicas. Evolución del son El son ha evolucionado a través de diferentes sub-géneros, como el son montuno, el son oriental y el son santiaguero. También ha influenciado otros géneros musicales, como el mambo, el chachachá y la salsa. Además, el son ha trascendido fronteras y ha tenido una gran influencia en la música latinoamericana y mundial. ¿Cómo se baila? El son cubano se baila en pareja. La postura es erguida y relajada, con las piernas separadas a la anchura de los hombros y las rodillas ligeramente flexionadas. La pareja se mueve en círculos y giros suaves, sincronizados con el ritmo de la música. El baile invita a la improvisación y la creatividad dentro de una estructura básica de pasos y movimientos. Soneros destacados Ignacio Piñeiro es considerado uno de los padres del son cubano. Otros soneros importantes son Miguel Matamoros e Ibrahim Ferrer. Compay Segundo y Eliades Ochoa fueron miembros del famoso Buena Vista Social Club.
