I really thought that I buried my desire to play guitar a long time ago. Now that I have developed piano literacy and some beginner note reading, it's a good as a time as any to step back into it. There is one thing I know is that desire is a powerful force when harnessed in the correct direction. Let fire and desire hold hands it will help you get to the finish line. When I exited an emotionally and mentally abusive relationship back in 2018, the guitar was the only thing I had. It gave my life structure to have music homework, making new friends in adult group guitar lessons and songs to practice. I believe it saved my life. Why do people go back to bad situations? Because they don't have a vision for the life after the abuse. I saw a better version of myself on the line fighting to get free. It was dangerous to leave and some financial losses as well. It was really really hard and I regret none of it!!! I'm walking in my freedom. I'm walking in joy, and I owe that to the brave people who helped me escape. At 11:30am in the morning yesterday my grandmother went on to be with the Lord. She went peacefully in sleep and got to pass at home in comfort which was her preference. I choose to celebrate her life. I choose to celebrate that I had 20 something of the best years with her health in tact as we got to go on some amazing adventures together ❤️. She taught me how to sew and gave me my first sewing machine. She got to see me graduate high school and graduate college TWO times. I know have made her proud. I choose to continue to make her proud in this walk we call life. No more pain and suffering after battling cancer on and off for decades. I told her in one of our final conversations, "Well done! WELL DONE!!!!" ( a life well lived so we celebrate). Be free!!!✌️ No funeral service to announce most likely a private memorial. Don't be sad for me I am relieved she doesn't have to continue to go through a painful experience. In 2019 I was at an all time low in my life hit my worst rock bottom. This moment was a wake up call. In a stunning turn of events, I was rushed to emergency surgery for a torn Achilles heel. I lost my job. I lost my friends because I couldn't socialize. I was bed bound for 9 months out of that year. The guy I was seeing moved on as well. No pain medication due to opioid risk. I learned how to live with the pain and still have some to this day. I lost everything and yet I stayed calm because Lions was released in 2020. Even in my deepest pain I never gave up on myself.
