A couple months ago my bestie @plantooba ‘s beloved dog Fernet developed an acute herniated disk in her lower spine, and for a few days it was touch and go whether the best would be to put her down. Fortunately the second and third opinion advised to give it a bit of time to see if it could heal, and today Fernet is doing a whole lot better and has been off pain medication for the last month or so 🩶Fernet🩶 I’ve been toying with the idea of making urns for ashes for a while. And although Fernet has pulled through this time, Hooba and I had a talk and decided that I should make it anyway, for the day that it will be needed. The urn has only been fired once, and therefore is grey in color. This is because Hooba might decide to have some of her ashes mixed into the glaze when the time comes. Ash melts and becomes glaze on ceramic, so it’s a nice way to make your doggo be part of the urn itself. Once it’s been glaze fired the clay will turn black. I’m planning to make some more urns for this purpose, so you can get in touch if this is something you’d be interested in. #ceramicurn #blackceramic #dogurn #darkceramics
