При создании «Breakfast Stout» ребята вдохновлялись такими пионерами американского крафта, как «Double Black Stout» от «Redhook» и «Java Stout» от «Bell’s». При каждой варке используется 4,5 кг горького шоколада, куски которого измельчаются и плавятся в сусле. Туда же идет и суматранский кофе, придающий пиву бобовые нотки. Варят сорт с 2002 года. И обратите внимание на крепость и ЭНС: тут все по-серьезному, утро будет бодрым. Вскрываем! Цвет черный, абсолютно непрозрачный. Тонкая шапка бежевой пены долго держится на поверхности. Карбонизация средняя. В аромате переплетаются жженый кофе, немного табачности и землистые оттенки вперемешку с солодом. Спирт не заметен. Вкус горько-сладковатый, с легкой кофейной кислинкой. Сладость минимальна, горький шоколад и зола уверенно доминируют. Солодовое тело плотное и тягучее - чистое удовольствие. Баланс просто идеален: за 20 лет ребята так все отшлифовали, что комар носа не подточит. Алкоголь не выпирает, и пьется пиво без каких-либо проблем. В чуть согревающем послевкусии много горького шоколада и золы. Финиш долгий и очень сухой. Если люди умеют варить, то они умеют варить, и комментарии тут излишни. Питко, сухо, с невероятным балансом. Уверен, что лучше овсяный стаут сделать невозможно. «Балтика сварила имперский стаут.» Эта новость прозвучала в конце прошлого года."Н̶и̶х̶у̶я̶с̶е̶! Давно пора было это сделать." – подумал я. Надо брать. Взять получилось, только вот, недавно. А что поделаешь, в магазины шаговой доступности такое не завозят. Ограниченная серия. Планируется ли постоянный выпуск? Думаю, спрос покажет. Хотя, для "Балтики" идея с имперцем не нова. Года с 2015 имперский стаут таки производится, правда на экспорт и ограниченным тиражом. А тут всё-таки решили пустить это дело в массы. Какие то запредельные характеристики и не ожидаем: крепость 8 при плотности 18. Так же не обращаем внимание на биргейские возгласы: "Этанеимперскийстаут!" Вполне себе имперец, как раз в духе Британии, родоначальника стиля. Аромат приятен, но слабоват. Жжёнка, шоколад, карамель. Вкус намного ярче: кофе, горький шоколад, жжёная карамель. Довольно заметно спиртит. Да и тела, в общем то, не хватает. Чуть-чуть бы пожирнее, тогда и крепость была б не столь заметна. В целом, получилось хорошо, хотя и простовато. Unfortunately I don't appear to have anything from an Irish brewery in the fridge, but I do have this cereal themed beer by Neon Raptor, and I did skip breakfast today, so it'll have to do. A sweet profile hits the nose with aromas of marshmallow over creamy vanilla, a hint of rugged malts sneaking in right at the back. The palate pulls the marshmallow forward, closely followed by the vanilla, the malt flavours at the rear to balance the sweeter notes and providing a cereal grounding. It's silky smooth and thick, a touch of carbonation but easily overlooked. Not one of those who dislike marshmallow, it's a bit of a silly beer that sneaks in a naughty ABV under the radar of sweet cereal flavours. Not sure I could have another straight away, but it is a bit of fun that's going down quite easily! One of the many great aspects about this beer movement was how many breweries were introduced to me by their participation. I had previously never heard of @thefermentorium and @tank8beer, but was glad I got my hands on their version. Let's see how theirs was. • • Name: The Fermentorium / Tank 8 Black Is Beautiful ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 Brewery: The Fermentorium Beverage Co., Cedarburg, Wisconsin 🧬 Style: American Imperial / Double Stout 🇺🇲🇺🇲🍫🍫 Alcohol: 11% 📊 • • Poured at 51°F from a 16oz can (no date) into a Belgian tulip. Consumed on 17Feb24. TASTE: Moderate dark chocolate candy bar atop subtle toffee and caramel first fall into place. Gentle brown sugar, pecan, walnut, and bittersweet coffee enters right after. Wraps up hints of burnt toast, dried tobacco, raisin, and alcohol. NOTE: Like most of the non-adjuncted versions, this one fell more towards the roasty side of the spectrum, but without being overly bitter. This was complex like all of the others, but this had unique elements like brown sugar and raisin that didn't too often appear in the others, which I appreciated. Totality is a 9.9% abv Imperial / Double Stout brewed by @fiftyfiftybrewing in Truckee, California. It's a really dark redbrownish beer with a beige head. The aroma is heavy, dark malty and roasty with some sweet and deep espresso notes. It's full-bodied, has a velvety and creamy texture, milky, almost oily. Deep dark malty flavours and lots of coffee are balanced with a roasty bitterness. When you hear the name @weatheredsoulsbrewing_satx, you probably think of barrel-aged, adjuncted Stouts. For those fellow fanatics of this Texas great, they are so much more than that. Let's take a look at this Imperial Stout from them brewed with malts, water, yeast, and hops for this week's #WeatheredSoulsWednesday. • • Name: Truth of Darkness ⚫️ Brewery: Weathered Souls Brewing Co., San Antonio, Texas ⛈️👻 Style: American Imperial / Double Stout 🇺🇲🇺🇲🍫🍫 Alcohol: 11.3% 📊 • • Poured at 47°F from a 16oz can (no date) into a Belgian tulip. Allowed to warm up to 50°F before reviewing. Consumed on 18Feb24. TASTE: Bold dark chocolate candy bar with moderate caramel and toffee first burst through. Small pecan and walnut with hints of brown sugar next flow forward. Ends on subtle bittersweet coffee and raisins mixed with traces of cream, burnt toast, fig jam, and black plum. NOTE: If anyone says that Weathered Souls is only about Pastry or barrel-aged Stouts, I will gladly show them this beer. This was a wonderful demonstration of pure Imperial Stout and I can see why they use this as a base to several of their adjuncted and barrel-aged versions. This was a perfect balance of sweet and roasty, falling right in the middle of that spectrum. 🍻 OVERALL RATING: 4.25 / 5.0
Banana Dead Don’t Die from Third Moon is an 8.5% double stout brewed with chocolate, banana, and lactose. I love all DDD variants I’ve tried so I was stoked to get my hands on the banana version! Oh, so good - especially paired with chocolate fondue. The sip allows you to peel back layers of decadent and rich chocolate with bunches of banana. The lactose adds a sweet and creamy essence that you’ll go bananas for. It’s fantastic!

Вышло неоднозначно: довольно крепко, обязательно надо дать подышать, ибо изначально спиртит, пьется правда тяжко и объем дикий, на двоих точно много, но по составу персик есть и даже очень, сам стаут неплохой, там и кофе и шоколадка, но крепко. Имперский стаут с персиком 🍑NAPLS от @redbuttonbrew ------------------------------------------ 🍑NAPLS 🌡️ABV-13 🍻 В аромате сначала дико спиртит, подышав уходит, раскрывается сочный персик, шоколадный крем, во вкусе сначала ядрёно, тут и кофейно и горький шоколад, градус кусается, чуть персиковой мякоти, лёгкая горчинка в послевкусии.
