Sooooo……..this is what we have here…….in my opinion, after listening to the patient’s story/injection history, we have poorly placed filler caused by possibly using a more advanced injection technique for this type of lip anatomy and then also taking too much time to complete the injections (2 hours!, that’s what she reported) and patient already swollen before completion. All that is kind of a set up for beak throughout the Cupid’s bow and filler past the vermillion border and into the cutaneous lip. * * Injectors…..step away! Sometimes building the perfect pout may take a staged approach. *If a patient is swelling too much, too quickly, it’s okay to stop injecting and bring them back in a week or so…..they might be a little upset….but they’ll get over it! Otherwise, you will keep going and then they will end up in my chair for damage control and you just lost a patient! * If something is a little out of your league, it’s okay to refer out! I do it all the time!!
