📍: Pier 21 Foodcourt at @terminal21asok . Visited the Terminal 21 Foodcourt twice this trip! (Bcos we avoided the Songkran activities 😂 and lots of restaurants we wanna check out are out for Songkran holiday!) This was our quick lunch before departing to the airport, and gotta say first time trying Maggie Goreng Thai style 🙃 Overall Terminal 21’s food choices are cheap and good! Sarawak Laksa $18 - Bright and warming, the Sarawak Laksa at @kantinjewel is amongst one of the more authentic versions I’ve tasted. Think of it as a cross between your standard curry laksa crossed with Penang-style Assam laksa. The gravy is rich, spicy and tangy, without being too overpowering, allowing the diner to appreciate the other ingredients in the bowl. Plump prawns, shredded egg and chicken slices co-mingle with smooth rice noodles which have absorbed all the flavour of the laksa gravy for a melange of delightful tastes and textures.

Ordered the signature and spicy fish & chips that came with diff sides! One with edamame and the other with kani salad. Was a really refreshing change from the usual salad which I appreciate~ The signature one had slightly more crispy batter imo but didn't really fancy the sauce that came with it though. The spicy one had a nice kick to it and the kani salad helped to cut through the greasiness of the fish & chips. Also loved that the fish was super firm and fresh. Delicious meal overall~ Thank you @fryingfishclub and @scalemicroinfluencers for the invite! 😋

📍The Food Peeps Coffee & Deli (Chinatown) 👅 Avocado On Toast ($16) 👍🏻👎🏻 ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 2nd time here & food was still kinda mid :”) Good portion of avocadoes and smoked salmon on sourdough. Sourdough was soft, tho a little dry. Felt that it could’ve been slightly more toasted for that crisp on the edges too! The poached egg was nicely done, while the avo and smoked salmon tasted a little stale (dk if it’s just me but I felt this way when I tried their avo bagelwich the prev time too). Overall, an affordable brunch place w a variety of options and good vibes. Would be perf if the quality of food was slightly bttr !!

📍BABA NYONA ate this before flying overseas at changi hehe Nyona Chilli Garam Fried Rice ($12.90): The Nyona chilli gave the fried rice just a tint of spicy kick that was balanced perfectly with the garam spices, not really that spicy. The portion size was pretty generous for the price Nasi Ulam ($7.90): The Nasi Ulam was a refreshing and flavorful dish. Hotteok, Korean Food Fair at Takashimaya Shopping Centre >>> SWIPE FOR VISUALS Rating: ❤️❤️❤️ Didn’t know @takashimayasg had a Korean fair until I walked past last weekend!! Saw so many people queuing for the Hotteok so like a typical Singaporean that’s what I did too. Queue moved pretty quickly and I got my hands on a piping hot original hotteok ($6) in no time! Super good it is totally worth the queue! Every bite was quite even and it wasn’t too doughy at the ends. Some parts were a little caramelised which added to the texture. Enjoyed it greatly, would head back again this weekend to buy more! The stall also sells other variations of hotteok but when I visited at 4pm on Sunday they were already sold out. Braised pork belly with taro and preserved vegetables! It was a pretty indulgent dish, but "diet rules" don't apply during overseas holidays.😜 At ~S$15, our set at @wah_fung_hk consisting of a main course, old cucumber & pork rib soup and rice was really worth it. Absolutely SOLD by the grilled sourdough with pistachio butter at @eatat.baste 🥹🥖✨ You guys definitely need to try it!!!! 🫶🏻 Not only is the sourdough itself divine with its crunchy crust and soft texture within, the nutty pistachio butter was so fragrant and umami which went perfectly with the bread. My friend and I wanted to order second servings because we couldn't get enough of this combination. You can also purchase their pistachio butter, packaged in a small bottle! I also tried their Pork Ragu with potato dumplings, and cauliflower with XO scallop sauce & coconut gelato. They both were served in a very pretty presentation but I found that the combination of flavours didn't quite hit the spot for me. The individual components in each dish were still enjoyable but I would say you can give these a miss, and try other dishes instead!

What a great meal this was 😝. Kotuwa has always been on my list to try and this meal did not disappoint. Highly recommend the duck curry, calamari and squash curry. The turmeric rice was their rice of the day and it was the perfect pairing with the curry. Portions might seem small at first, but our table of four was well fed in addition to the desserts we got, each equally unexpected but delightful in its own way.

📍Yishun 928 Laksa 👅 Laksa - Small ($3.60) 👍🏻👎🏻 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Had this laksa a vvv long time ago when I was still a child & watching Zermatt Neo’s laksa challenge vid brought me back here again :”) Don’t be deceived by this small bowl, it’s packed full of ingredients & the amount of noodles in there was rlly substantial 😮 The laksa gravy had a slightly thicker consistency & flavourful but didn’t come across as too heavy/overwhelming. Spice level was mid so add that chilli if you prefer it spicier! The last time I ate laksa proper was some good years ago so I don’t rlly have a basis of comparison but this was a pretty decent bowl of laksa! Priced at $3.60 with such portions, it’s truly affordable & worth the money. Would recc a try if you’re in the hood but do head down earlier to avoid the snaking long queue !!

Finally made it to @amipatisseriesg ! I’ve adored their Choux since 2021 when I first tried the 6-piece Choux Box. This visit, I went for the 𝐓𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐱 and 𝐔𝐣𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐱. Each one was light, airy, and brimming with uniquely flavored cream—absolutely delicious! Definitely among the top choux I’ve tried. Check out Merhaba Amigo (@merhabaamigo), a humble halal-certified mexican takeaway kiosk nestled in Admiralty. ✨ From delectable kebabs, burritos, and quesadillas starting at just $6.90, to hearty salads and grain bowls priced from $10.90, I really enjoyed their food that cane in generous portions! One of my favourite home-based bakeries, @youkneadcakes, is going to be operating out of Baker X from 4 to 31 May! 💛   All their baked goods are meticulously made from scratch, with a commitment to freshness and flavour. I love their array of simple and rustic-quality baked goods and these are what I tried from their recently launched bake box: 🍋 Lemon Chia Seed Pound Cake ($5) — brushed with homemade lemon syrup and adorned with lemon icing glaze, topped with dried lemon slices. 🍰 Black Sesame Pound Cake with Soybean Crumble ($5) - A moist pound cake infused with grounded black sesame seeds and black sesame paste, finished with homemade soybean crumble. 🍪 Salted Egg Yolk Cereal Cookie ($5.50) — boasts chopped salted egg yolk delicately folded into the browned butter cookie dough, complemented by toppings of caramelised cereal, white chocolate chips, and a sprinkle of sea salt. 🍪 Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk Cookie ($5.50) — Rich nuances of Valrhona chocolate are accentuated by a finishing touch of sea salt. 🍰 Chocolate Hazelnut Pound Cake ($7) — An exclusive creation at Baker X featuring a rich dark chocolate cake filled with chocolate hazelnut feuilletine crunch and layered with smooth dark chocolate ganache. 🧁 Original Madeleines ($13 for 5) – the classic French pastry served with a zesty homemade lemon curd.   Honestly can't choose a favourite because all their flavours slaps, and I always love how their cakes are always so moist and soft. Shinjuku Restaurant, Cuppage Plaza @izakaya_shinjuku has been around in Cuppage Plaza for years and it’s always packed during meal times so when I saw they had a bit of space for dinner, I seized my chance and did a walk in. Truffle Kurobuta Don Set ($30.50) ❤️❤️❤️ This set is so worth my money! The don comes with tempura, pickles, appetiser, miso soup and fruits ☺️. Thought they would be smaller portions but these were so sumptuous! Slices of 🐷 kurobuta charred slightly on top of a bed of fluffy rice with an 🥚 onsen egg in the middle. The onsen egg is perfect and makes the don extra creamy. The tempura is a good assortment of prawn, lady’s finger, eggplant and pumpkin. Chirashi Don ($29.50) ❤️❤️ Chirashi don with the usual suspects — salmon, ikura, scallops, tuna, crab meat and tamagoyaki. I particularly liked the tamagoyaki because it was so moist and flavourful. The rice itself was topped with seaweed and sakura denbu, making it very lovely to eat. My partner ordered Calpis Chu Hi ($13) to go with the food because, why not? Absolutely loved the chorizo & beef brisket tacos & churros at @luchaloco! 🌮 For sides, the roasted 'tajin' cauliflower were surprisingly addictive with the cashew crema that had a hint of spices. Despite being a vege hater, I still enjoyed this a lot! No meal at @luchaloco should end without their super churros — delightfully crisp and paired with chocolate/caramel sauce! yum! ❤️
