Equipped with bear spray and bravery, we explored a few trails at Esker Lakes Provincial Park this past Sunday. โEskerโ je peux aller aux Esker Lakes? ๐๐ฟ Esker Lakes quickly became one of our favourite parks! The park is located 2 hours east of Timmins, close to the border with Quebec. We stopped in for a day visit as part of our journey back home to Southern Ontario, and we didnโt quite know what to expect from this park. What we found were pristine lakes, lush forests, and beautiful hiking trails! Our favourite scenery was along the Lonesome Bog Trail (1.5km, 1 hour, easy), which winds its way around Sausage Lake. We loved the many boardwalks, unique forms of plant life, and informational plaques along this hike.๐ฑ๐ฅพ We also checked out Panagapka Lake, Lallan Lake, and the portage route connecting both bodies of water. This is part of many canoe routes throughout the park. Esker Lakes has both frontcountry and backcountry sites, with many offering lakeside views!
