“Blocking”: one of the unknown joys of needlepointing. 🤣 Stitching freestyle, canvases become warped worms and it’s critical to whip them back into square shape. It’s a tug of war process- at least it is for me- lightly spritzing the canvas and pulling the baby taught so she’ll be as flat as possible. (Sometimes repeating 2-3 times!) This is NIGHTSWIMMING, getting ready for her final touches. 16 x 16 inches hand-embroidered stream of consciousness in wools and silks almost 89 hours work (yes, I clocked it!) and about 30,000 stitches I love it and hope you do too! * * * The original NIGHTSWIMMING will be available in a month, after she gets her full velvet dressing. I’ll be offering fabric reproductions in late May.
