I created this gorgeous journal because I believe your words are worth it! The covers for this pretty hand bound journal were made using original cyanotype prints. Both front and back covers feature Black-Eye Susan daisies from my lovely English country garden. My garden is always full of these jolly yellow flowers, and I think they make wonderful subjects for cyanotype prints. I used some Herbin Bouquet d’antan ink, and a tiny sprinkling of gold ink, when making the print. I also used salt in the wet cyanotype developing process, because this gives a wonderful crystalising effect. To create the cover prints, I used Ivory Hahnemühle Dürer Ingres-Bütten Paper; it’s a lovely base for cyanotype printing. This Hahnemühle IS a lovely base for cyanotype printing. This Fabriano art paper is the perfect weight for creating the covers for my journals. It’s strong enough to withstand the cyanotype chemicals and the dyes and inks I use in the development process; it can also stand up to the washing at the end of the process! The inside covers are made using Nepalese Lokta paper in a lovely airmail blue. The book is stitched together with turquoise waxed Irish linen thread. I used Coptic stitching to bind the book together. Coptic binding means that the book will lie completely flat when opened, which makes it perfect for journaling or sketching. I created this gorgeous journal because I really do believe your words are worth it! Part of my 8” by 10” collection of journals, a wonderful size for a journal, it’s as wide as A4, but not quite so tall, so there’s plenty of space for your writing, for sketches, even for scrap-booking. The covers are original cyanotype prints, which is an Eco-friendly art form. The subjects for my artwork are wildflowers or flowers from my garden, which Nature produces for me in abundance! And I use the sun to develop the prints … as an energy source, you can’t get more sustainable than that! The covers feature all sorts of wild Wiltshire Umbelliferae ... we have so many different kinds here! I used some Tumultuous Tides and silver inks to add a dash of sparkle! I also used salt in the wet cyanotype developing process, because this gives a wonderful crystalising effect. To create the cover prints, I used Hahnemuhle Buggra Bütten Cream fleck ingres paper. The inside covers are made using pale blue Nepalese Lokta Paper. For this journal I have used cyanotype print spine wraps, which look beautiful when your book is standing on a shelf. Tie dying paper is not usually something you’d do, because it’s usually too fragile to be manipulated this way, especially when it’s damp. But tea bag paper is actually designed to be strong when it’s wet, perfect for tie-dye cyanotype prints. I used a few splashes of gold ink for a bit of bling. It's a great way for me to use up the little bits of thread that are left over from book binding. The book is stitched together with Teal waxed Irish Linen thread. I used Coptic stitching to bind the book together. Coptic binding means that the book will lie completely flat when opened, which makes it perfect for journaling or sketching. All the Pretty Umbelliferae - A Unique Handcrafted A4 Photograph Album … Because Your Memories Are Worth It The covers for this landscape A4 hand bound book are original cyanotype prints. Both the front and back covers feature wild Umbelliferae gathered from the hedgerows around my beautiful Wiltshire home. Umbelliferae grow in profusion here - wild carrot, wild parsnip, hogweed. Most umbellifers are characterised by their disc-shaped umbels, which are made up of many tiny flowers held on short flower stalks, and it is this shape that makes them perfect as pressed flowers and then as subjects for cyanotype prints. In the final prints they can look like snowflakes or starbursts or fireworks. This photograph album has a lovely rich feel to it because I used silver ink, plus a dash of gold, as well as a few pinches of salt in the development process. To add to the richness of the covers, I used Hahnemuhle Buggra Bütten paper to create both prints. It’s a beautiful art paper. The inside covers are made using handmade dark turquoise Lokta paper from the Himalayan foothills of Nepal. Lokta plants are a sustainable and renewable resource. This is the perfect Earth-friendly stationery! It would be a wonderful wedding or engagement gift. The book is stitched together with silver waxed cotton thread. Both front and back covers feature Black-Eye Susan daisies from my lovely English country garden. My garden is always full of these jolly yellow flowers, and I think they make wonderful subjects for cyanotype prints. I used some Ferris Wheel Press Jardin Turquoise ink, and a tiny sprinkling of gold ink, when making the print. I also used salt in the wet cyanotype developing process, because this gives a wonderful crystalising effect. To create the cover prints, I used Fabriano Tiziano art paper in lovely flecked pale blue colour called Brina; it’s a lovely base for cyanotype printing. Hydrangea Flowers Like Butterflies A5 Hand Bound Journal I created this gorgeous journal because I believe your words are worth it. The covers for this pretty hand bound journal were made using original cyanotype prints. Both front and back covers feature Hydrangea flowers from my lovely English country garden. I just love the way they look like little butterflies in the cyanotype prints. I used some Herbin Bouquet D’antin purple ink, and a tiny sprinkling of gold ink, when making the print. I also used salt in the wet cyanotype developing process, because this gives a wonderful crystalising effect. To create the cover prints, I used Ivory Hahnemühle Dürer Ingres-Bütten Paper; it’s a lovely base for cyanotype printing. This Hahnemühle art paper is the perfect weight for creating the covers for my journals. It’s strong enough to withstand the cyanotype chemicals and the dyes and inks I use in the development process; it can also stand up to the washing at the end of the process! 8 by 10 inch Journal with Rhesho Paper and Flowers from My Garden I created this gorgeous journal because I believe your words are worth it! The covers for this pretty hand bound journal were made using original cyanotype prints. Both front and back covers feature flowers from my garden … allium seedheads, cosmos and clematis. The cover prints were created using Rhesho paper, which is handmade in Bhutan using the traditional Himalayan floating mould method in which the pulp is poured onto the paper frame. The paper is sun dried on the frame. Made from the inner bark or bast fibre of de-nar, a Bhutanese variety of lokta, which is a sustainable and renewable resource. It really soaked up the cyanotype chemicals, and I think these are the deepest blues I've ever achieved. It doesn't really come across in the photograph ... how I wish I had "feelyphotography" ... but this is an incredibly tactile print. I created this gorgeous journal because I really do believe your words are worth it! Part of my 8” by 10” collection of journals, a wonderful size for a journal, it’s as wide as A4, but not quite so tall, so there’s plenty of space for your writing, for sketches, even for scrap-booking. The covers are original cyanotype prints, which is an Eco-friendly art form. The subjects for my artwork are wildflowers or flowers from my garden, which Nature produces for me in abundance!
