En maison de retraite j’ai commencé à improviser mes premiers concerts pour ma grand-mère puis dans toutes celles où j’allais rendre des visites amicales. Quand la Fondation Art Explora a créé l’initiative « #Allô #Miró », j’y ai vu la chance de poursuivre cette relation à travers des œuvres d’art et le plus grand nombre. Ma passion pour la musique étant toujours trop forte, tous mes échanges ont conduit à des mini-concerts improvisés et participatifs. Devant l’engouement des résidents et ces moments de partage riches en émotions, je me suis pris à rêver d’une initiative AllÔpéra. Un temps de relation où tous les artistes chanteurs, danseurs, instrumentistes, étudiants et mélomanes passionnés pourraient venir partager leurs plus grandes émotions musicales et chorégraphiques. Un élan de générosité, de dignité, de diversité et de liberté pour contribuer à renforcer les liens entre les personnes grâce à l’Opéra et tous les autres arts. Art should be accessible to all, yet large swathes of the population in France and globally are disconnected from the cultural world by economic and social divides. That’s why entrepreneur Frédéric Jousset, after making his fortune as a cofounder of the company Webhelp, founded @art.explora in 2019 with the aim of democratising access to culture. The foundation operates on multiple fronts: for the artists and institutions, by funding residencies, art prizes and exhibitions; for the public, through an Academy offering free online art-history courses in French and English validated by the Sorbonne University, and by bringing the culture directly to them via itinerant exhibitions. This week, Jousset announced Art Explora’s most ambitious initiative yet: ARTEXPLORER, a boat museum presenting a digital exhibition curated by the @museelouvre, which will set sails from Marseille in 2023 before touring to cities in the Mediterranean and the rest of the world! A 'Grand Patron' of the Louvre Museum, Jousset is also the owner of Beaux-Arts magazine and is a recipient of various orders including Commander of the French Order of Arts and Letters. French businessman and publisher Frédéric Jousset launched a new €100 million impact investment fund geared specifically toward supporting upstart arts and culture projects. The fund, ArtNova, will put money toward entrepreneurial efforts that, according to the announcement, “benefit the entire cultural ecosystem and produce a measurable social impact.” “My ambition is for ArtNova to accelerate the emerging art tech and culture tech industries, and have an impact on how one gets access to culture,” Jousset, an outspoken advocate of democratizing access to the arts, said in a statement. “Bringing together the cultural industry and investing an ambitious financial amount, we want to support the long-term sustainability of the cultural businesses and the ecosystem they serve.” What touched us the most during the interview he graciously gave to Rosemont Art Advisory is his wish: “To leave a better world for his daughter”, to “follow his inner calling, his passion for culture in the most democratic form”.
