A little special #foodiefriday and #flashbackfriday post from a recent volunteer opportunity I had with the @foodbankcenc in Raleigh 🍠 The mission of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is simple; Nourish people. Build solutions. Empower communities. One way to do that is by volunteering your time, food or funds to help bring delicious and nutritious meals to our fellow North Carolinians. I got the opportunity to do both with some coworkers in December and to say it was rewarding is an understatement. We sorted sweet potatoes (a key crop for NC), dropped off lots of non-perishable holiday foods, made new friends from all over our area and learned a ton about food insecurity. After a visit to Fearrington Village last weekend to explore we are naming today #FearringtonFriday 🐄 Located 45 minutes from Fuquay-Varina, and sharing the same FV initials, this is a great place to take a day trip or plan a staycation at.
