@verdantbrew 'Putty' DIPA 8%. . So once again its all aboard the Beer Hype Train. . Presenting the 2024 release of Verdant Putty Double IPA, I had to get one and must admit it is a very good DIPA but at a rather inflated price. Great aroma, very sticky, fruity with a pithy resiny Bitterness, there's also some sweetness its also rather assertive, there is no doubt you are consuming an 8% Beer... . All that said at over £8 a Can and I've seen it for upward of £12 on line (I'm lucky to have a supplier who doesn't take the piss) it is pricey to say the least, Verdant definitely taking advantage of this IPAs legendary status, all a bit cynical methinks? HOLY GHOST 👻 Triple IPA at 11.0% abv from @parishbrewingco was released exactly 1 month ago (packaged on Halloween day 🎃☠️). I bought it like 10 days after packaging and kept it cold pretty much the whole time ❤️ The fill level of the can was like 2 mm under the lid. 😲👍 Recipe is built with oats and raw wheat as adjuncts and dry-hopped to saturation (likely around +30 gr/L T-90 pellet equivalent) in equal parts of Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Galaxy. Aroma is pungent of blueberry muffin with slight onion dank, orange cream, strawberry jam, ripe canteloupe, ripe sweet pineapple, lemon curd, basil, pear, haribo bananas, white peach, slight mandarin alcohol, geranium, vanilla marshmallow, blue cotton candy, white grape, eucalyptus, rose lukum/turkish delight, green/unripe honeydew with slight earthy grass (reminds me what I often get with galaxy hop). Very complex aroma overall with strong but harmonious floral, stone fruit, berry and candy/vanilla notes. In mouth, it is of medium-full body, alcohol taste and warmth is very well hidden and bitterness is enough to balance and leave space to a prominent juicy quality. It is slightly sweet forward despite moderate-light tannins and astringency showing up and cutting through in the finish. A little chalky/sulfate-y and green/peppery astringency but normal for such an abv hop bomb. Nothing problematic but a bit less tannins would improve it still. This beer is a holy GhOAsT 🐑👻 in its category (Triple IPA) which I sometimes like to think of as American Hopwine (like a brother/sister of American Barleywine). There is no bjcp category for this style but one should definitely be introduced in the near future in my opinion. A 21D as double/strong hazy IPA or 22E Hopwine (🤭😉) from 9-12% abv should be introduced. It's a category that would definitely attract entries in big competitions and many of the talented breweries make such beer as a core/regular beer so I don't see why a category for such beer should not be introduced. #holyghost #tipa #hopwine #stronghazyipa #bjcp #21D #22E #galaxyhop #citracryo #broussardla #louisianacraftbeer #beertasting

Die staan nu mooi in de kas te groeien bij @pantar_amsterdam zodat ze van het voorjaar uitgeplant kunnen worden op het veld. Het is een hele fruitige hop die zeer gewild is. Było o warzeniu, było o butelkowaniu to teraz o piciu. Warka #122 lekkie NEIPA w wersji bez gotowania po zacieraniu. W zasypie 45% słodu pilzneńskiego i po 27.5% słodu pszenicznego i płatków owsianych. Chmielone tylko na whirpool Sabro i odrobiną Magnum, na zimno Galaxy i Sabro. Z Galaxy w domu jakoś nie umiałem się polubić, zawsze dawał mi łodygę (może był źle przechowywany w sklepie? Nie wiem.) Tym razem jest ok. Przyzwoite piwo. Pominięcie gotowania dało przepiękne trwałe zmętnienie, znacząco przyspieszyło cały proces ale też z jego braku straty w garnku i fermentorze były znacznie większe. W tle kwitnie szałwia jakby kto pytał. THRILLS - GOLDEN COAST Galaxy single hop pacific ale, 5% ABV. Pivo uvařené ve spolupráci s oceněným australským domovarníkem Danem Svantessonem. Vlastně úplně nevím, kam toto pivo zařadit. Pivo je kalné a krémové jako NEIPA, přitom to má lehčí tělo, tropické chutě a vůně jsou zde přítomny velmi jemně a na chvilku. Pak si to pro sebe ukradne hořkost a kořenitost. Cením, že to není prvoplánová líbivka, ale že je to postavený na té hořkosti, přitom se to pije moc dobře. A tím, že je to celkově subtilnější, se to jen tak nepřepije.
