🇹🇼Day3 Taking the Taiwan Railway from Taipei to Taichung. Last October, I met a wonderful Taiwanese couple in Vietnam 🇻🇳 Six months later, my dream reunion came true! In Taichung, I also had new encounters! Traveling presents numerous encounters and fresh realizations, which is why it’s impossible to quit!! And on this day, we were lucky to experience the beginning of the Da Jia Mazu Rao Jing festival. This festival involves the palanquin procession of Mazu, the goddess of the sea and Taoist deity, visiting temples across central Taiwan over nine days. Participants walk alongside Mazu for the entire duration. Grateful to my Taiwanese friends who took me to places I wanted to visit and local festivals. #taichung jsme už stihli dát také sbohem a je tedy čas vybrat to nej nej: 1. Feng Chia Night Market, tak obrovský trh s rozmanitým výběrem jídla, pití, oblečení, ale i automatových her pro děti i dospělé jsem nikdy nezažila. Úzké uličky, hlava na hlavě, skútr vedle auta. Divočina level 360. 2. Gaomei Wetlands, jedná se o přírodní rezervaci, která skrývá ve svém království různé druhy ptáků, rostlin, ale i mořských živočichů. Měli jsme i možnost smočit nožky v krásně čisté vodě a načerpat tak pozitivní energii pro zbytek dne. 3. 921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan, jedná se o muzeum a vzdělávací centrum věnované silnému zemětřesení, které zasáhlo Tchaj-wan dne 21. září 1999. Day 2 📍Taichung Second Market 🍛 山河魯肉飯 Went to the market for the Lu Rou Fan (the pork belly version), was really fragrant and savoury! Wanted to explore the other markets but 8.30am was apparently too early for stalls to be opened 🫠 🧋 Chun Shui Tang Siwei Original Store Had one of their traditional breakfast set with pearl milk tea, it was okay nothing fantastic and honestly not cheap, not ex but not cheap 😅 for just toast, 2 slices of grilled ham and scrambled eggs. Their milk tea was nothing to die for, but I might be too used to Singapore’s milk tea style and flavours. The soft black pearls were not my cup of tea either 😕 🚃 TRA Taichung Station -> TRA Tai’An Station 🚖 Tai’An Station -> Zhongshe Flower Market 📍Zhongshe Flower Market - entrance fee, pay at entrance, NT$120 each (~S$5) Headed to the flower market after lunch by public transport, it’s actually easy to get there by train. Just do take note that TRA trains are scheduled trains, so that will help with the planning. At the Tai’An station, there are a few taxis that you can hail or you can always just Uber. I forgot to set up my Uber before going to Taiwan so I couldn’t use, was using eSIM without number so I couldn’t set up in Taiwan either haiz. The market is smaller than I expected but there were still many flowers that were nicely arranged so the whole market was “colour blocked”. And it was so hot it was burning but that means beautifully lit pictures with risk of sun burns. 🚖 Zhongshe Flower Market -> Hotel We gave up on the train because I forgot to check the timing lol so we just took taxi all the way back. Otw back, the taxi driver bought us 10 Taiyangbing because he really wanted to introduce us the original taichung taiyangbing from 太阳堂老店 😂 the honey biscuits are delicious!
