Today is not the day. I loved my spread this week and I was so happy to post it. I made it a few weeks before when i received beautiful stickers from @thehoneybshop. But now isn’t the time. Now is the time to pause. To stop my normal planning and to focus on my actions. My words. My protesting. To fine tune my activism. It is to focus on George Floyd, Eric Gardner, Erica Gardner, Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Philandro Castile, Mike Brown, Labuan McDonald, Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, Freddie Gray, Jamar Clark, Alton Sterling, Stephon Clark, Botham Jean, Atatiana Jefferson, Ahmaud Arbery, Keith Childress, Bettie Jones, Tiara Thomas, India Kager and so many more. 99% of police of police killings from 2013-2019 resulted in no charges against police officers. Black mothers are 3 times more likely to die in child birth than their white counterparts. Being silence in the face of injustice for your own comfort is violence. There is no getting around it. This isn’t something we focus on today or tomorrow. This is a focus every day. We are not free until we are all free. I have added the George Floyd Memorial Fund for donations but also two organizations close to my community: the Trayvon Martin Foundation and the Community Bail Fund. They are doing the work, we have to support them. So with self isolating being the norm, I no longer could just swing meals and run to the store when we wanted trying to limit our contact which really forced me to up my meal planning game. It was a new adventure to me but I busted out one of my half notes from @the_happy_planner and an envelope I had and was gifted these awesome grocery lists sheets pack. It has changed the whole game. I keep all of my recipes for the week tucked into my notes and used tabs to keep it separated. It is so much easier to keep everything organized and know exactly what my plans are for the week. No more guessing and buying things I do not need from the store. Now it is all easily located in one meal planning book. I love it. And because I can easily rip out the pages and move them, I could always put my recipes I am reusing for my week tab of plans. How do you meal plan? I've hunted high and Low for sticker planner packs that feed my nerdy side 😁 I found these digital downloads from Digital Dreams Store on Etsy. And a couple were homemade stickers. It’s plaid week in my planner! Yay! I love plaid. Like a lot. It wasn’t always so and I know it’s not everyone’s favorite. But when I see plaid, I think of cozy, rustic, cabin, outdoors and I love, love, love that vibe. And yes my Xmas decor is all about plaid. . I’ve had the Hobonichi Weeks for a few months now and I’m still surprised that I like it so much. I thought I would hate the thin yellow paper, but I love how the pages feel when you turn them and how it looks with stickers. So I guess you really can’t knock something til you try it. I really wanted to release these yesterday with all the other new ones. But honestly last week I nearly shut the shop down. Everything went wrong with all my machines and technology, I was on a big project for work, and had zero time to figure out why everything went from working perfectly to being possessed over night. This year I’Ve learned we just need to use our planner. And that it’s ok to switch around and not use the same one all year.
