Tip Tuesday! ☺️ If you’re anything like me, your house cleanliness can be a source of stress. Between small children mixed with life, I felt like my house was always falling by the wayside. Even though I didn’t want it to be! Not to mention the MASS anxiety filled cleaning that would happen when anyone was coming over. Mid December I finally said enough is enough! Yes, I know my house won’t be spotless all the time with children. But what can I do to make my life easier, calmer, and less 3 week old funk cemented to the dining room floor? I put this system into place about a month ago and it’s been amazing! My mind is clearer, I enjoy walking out into my home in the morning, and the boys are taking more responsibility over their stuff. So...here it is. 🏠 I printed out a weekly calendar with half hour blocks lined out. I mapped out our daily schedules and put it up in my hallway. 🏠 I decided when in my day I “wanted” to clean for 30 mins. 🏠 I determined which chores are every day chores and which are weekly chores. 🏠 I assigned a day to those weekly chores. My schedule: Monday - laundry, Tuesday - bathrooms & emptying the trash cans around the house, Wednesday - dusting & deep cleaning the kitchen, Thursday - laundry, Friday - vacuum & mop, Saturday - yard & anything needing attention, Sunday - nothing beyond daily tasks. 🏠 I do those assigned chores in my 30 mins each day. 🏠 Every evening at 6:30 we stop whatever we are doing and have family clean up time. I even sing the song. 🏠 Our daily chores: putting all the toys/books away, dishes, clearing the counters, and sweeping. 🏠 We are usually done in 20 mins and can then go to our bedtime routine and enjoy the rest of the evening together. Free of mess! Things I’ve learned in the last month: ⭐️ My mind is less cluttered because I’m not worried about when I’m going to get to the toilets or to the floors. And then never get to it because something else comes up. ⭐️ Things are easier and quicker to clean when they’re being cleaned on a consistent basis. 🙌🏼 ⭐️ I’m less upset with my kids for making a mess because I know it will be cleaned up in the near future.
