These pictures are EXACTY 1 year apart. Notice a difference? I do, slightly. A year of running more and still hitting the gym 3-5 times a week. The thing is, eventually you will stop noticing such an incredible change and it will begin to be very small gains which is where most people fall off because their “motivation” is no longer there. This is why discipline trumps motivation everytime. I haven’t noticed any changes to my physique in a year, maybe more but I still go and put in the work like I did when I was 250. Now the changes come from distance/time ran, reps done in the gym, my mental clarity. All things people DON’T physically get to see. Decided to do something a little different for this hump day. 45 minute walk and workout around the lake (stopping at the benches and stations for push ups, body sqats, step ups, dips and mountain climbers) followed by 30 minutes stretching, meditating and grounding. It's throwback Thursday. So here are a few pics from 2005 - 2007. Yeah, I've been in this thing for a minute. 294lbs at my heaviest and that wasn't even when I was pregnant. And though I didn't have any health issues when I started, I knew they weren't far away. So my main goal has always been being healthy. I don't do crazy trends, get skinny quick diets, pills or potions. Just get up and get it in - consistently. If I miss a day or two I don't beat myself up and quit. I just get back to it. If I can make time for family, to work, fun or whatever, I can make time for my health cause I'm worth it. And so are you. Do something for your health today. A quick workout... put the threadmill on an incline of 10 or 12, speed about 2 or 2.1. Turn on the music and start walking straight then switch up the walk based on the music i.e. lunges, swooping side to side, wide leg, march with a back kick, crossovers, heel toes, etc. The goal is to alternate between a wide and tight step. Use the music as your cue to change (chorus, verse, rifs, etc..) Do this for 20 to 30 minutes. O M fricking G!! Follow it up with some leg work, if you want or can. I did leg extensions, curls, seated squats and side lunges. Definitely going to feel this tomorrow.
