I’ll review a Disney Pixar short animation film title that I watched 🎥🎞️ Jack Jack Attack (2004) ジャック・ジャック・アタック！ This movie is a A spin-off short story depicting the misfortune that befalls the babysitter of baby “Jack-Jack “from The Incredibles. The plot of this movie is about, “Carly”, the girl assigned to babysit “Jack-Jack”, is being interrogated. Full of confidence, she accepts the job as a babysitter, but it’s at the mercy of Jack-Jack who has special abilities that allow him to teleport and turn into a fireball. Carly desperately explains the situation to the interrogator. My thought about this film, Carly is a girl with strong habits, but it was wonderful how she took care of Jack-Jack who has supernatural powers, and deal with him all night. december dump ✨yes, I’m gonna do that thing where I comment about every picture, so leave now while you still can. #1 Jax dumped the pizza. This was pretty impressive because it not only stayed in the box, but all the slices folded on top of each other.. this actually made me laugh so hard I cried and I just haven’t done that in a while. Remember these two? The doofus on the left, and the shark on the right? You know what's missing from this photo? TEETH. That's right; both boys had their teeth removed about about three years ago. Which explains why Griffin looks like LIL BUB's long lost brother, and Jack looks like he's ready to kill someone with his murder mittens, instead. Sadly, both twins have passed from this life to the Rainbow Bridge. Jack went first; cancer and his hyperthyroidism got the best of him. Two months later, Griffin died of completely random heart failure, or as the #shorthuman says, 'a broken heart'. Now they're here with me, the Beast, making my life hell. Actually, I jest. They stay on the other end of the bridge with other, equally weird kitties who have crossed over. If you ever had a weird kitty, rest assured, he or she is likely trying to fend off Griffin's efforts to get acquainted with them. (Read: sniff their butt.) 📚Book Review - Once Upon A Wardrobe by Patti Callahan Thank you to @kristens.reading.nook for recommending this book to me 🤗 Megs is a brilliant mathematician... her life is filled with numbers, logic, and facts. But none of those things explain why her younger brother is dying and why he's obsessed with the Chronicles of Narnia. In order to fulfill her dying brother's wish, Megs tracks down C.S. Lewis to find out where Narnia came from. Will she finally learn where stories really come from? Or will she have to learn to believe in something more. I was a bit nervous in the beginning of this book... it starts as such a simple story and is so sticky sweet it made me teeth hurt. However, as the story unfolds, and I really got to know Megs, thankfully, I discovered there was a lot more to her. I also loved learning all the real-life facts about Lewis' life. I was also worried the book would be a tear-jerker, but thankfully, it was not. Yes, it has its sad moments, but the story approaches those with hope rather than heartache, which was a nice change. What's your favorite classic fantasy? The fantasy genre, as we know it today, has been around a lot longer than you may think. While most people may consider Tolkien one of the earliest fantasy authors, that's not entirely true. There are books dating back to the 1800s that are considered by many to be the birth of what we now know as the fantasy genre. George MacDonald in particular, is known as being one of the first authors to write fantastical stories for adults. My favorite classic fantasies, however, tend to be those aimed at younger readers because that's what I grew up reading... The Hobbit and The Chronicles of Narnia were definitely two of my favorites. Last day of •Fifth Grade• And so begins the summer before his last year of elementary school. I hope I can slow down and soak up the time I have with my kiddos this summer because it’s zooming by faster than ever before. Jack will tell you he hates school and getting him there some mornings has been ROUGH. He does really well academically, for which we are proud, but I know he also enjoys the social aspect. It’s a relief to hear him share certain parts of his day that he enjoyed. So, even though he leaves the house feeling hard feelings, he usually comes homes with a smile on his face. 5th grade curriculum includes the maturation program and the DARE program, two things I distinctly remember participating in. It’s crazy my own child has experienced them too. I bring them up because we are entering yet another new stage of parenting and it’s exciting, but also nerve-wracking. I love a common theme between these two programs: KINDNESS. They taught these impressionable young minds that their bodies are starting to change and that they need to be healthy and take care of themselves, but they also focused on the importance of respect, being a good friend and holding space for everyone. How powerful is that? Jack, you’re one amazing dude and I’m buckling up for all the amazing firsts we will continue to get to experience together. Love you son! 📚Book Review - Guardians of Ga'hoole: The Capture by Kathryn Lasky Soren is a young owl in the Kingdom of Tyto... but he's snatched from his family and taken to a sinister orphanage where something more evil may be lurking. It's up to Soren and his friends to find the truth about what's really going on with the snatched owlettes, and hopefully... escape! This book is super cute. It's a fun adventure story and Soren is an adorable and heroic little owl. I love how many actual owl facts are in this book... got to learn something and go on a fun adventure at the same time. However, this book is not a complete story. It's very much the first chapter of a larger tale, and that annoyed me. There's a clear beginning and middle... but then the book just ends, with nothing having been resolved. Despite the frustrating ending, it was still a cute book, and I can see it being very much enjoyed by younger readers. Have you read The Guardians of Ga'hoole? Or seen the animated movie? 📚Book Review - Revelle by Lyssa Mia Smith Luxe Revelle is a star... but with prohibition on the rise, her family is struggling to survive with their magical Circus show. Dewy Chronos might be the answer... a wealthy time traveler who can get the liquor that Luxe's family needs to stay afloat. Can Luxe charm Dewy enough to get what she wants? Is she destined to always put her family before herself? And what happens when Luxe meets Jamison... the handsome boy with a secret past that wants to save Luxe... even if she doesn't want to be saved. For the most part, I really enjoyed this one. It's basically a magical Moulin Rouge set in the 1920s. I loved the prohibition era setting, and I loved all the various types of magic present in the town. I also really enjoyed Luxe as a character... and how much she holds inside. I think that made her really relatable. I'm also a sucker for a love triangle, so Luxe, Dewy and Jamison made for a great one! Knowing how similar the story is to Moulin Rouge, I did expect a certain ending... so on one hand the ending was a surprise.... but on the other hand I think the book takes the "easy way" out. The story is tragic in certain ways... but it did not have the emotional punch that I wanted. Other than the ending the story was fun, magical, dark at moments, and all around a good time! 📚Book Review - Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater It's the 3rd book in The Raven Cycle, and Blue Sargent finally has the friends she always wanted... she finally feels like a member of the Raven Boys. But her mother has disappeared, her visions don't make sense, and what she thought she knew may be wrong. Can Blue and her friends find what they're looking for before they lose everything? This series continues to be a delight. The characters, worldbuilding, and plot are so unique and fantastic... it's a hard book to put down. While this book does focus on Blue in particular, all of the other characters get their own unique story arcs... and even some of the villains do too. At first I wasn't sure why a few characters in particular were there... but by the end I was so glad that they were! Even the characters with supporting roles and small scenes make a big impact. 📚Book Review - Chain of Thorns by Cassandra Clare This is the 3rd and final book in The Last Hours series and Cordelia's world is in tatters... her father, her husband, her legendary sword... she's lost it all. But as much as tries to run, the threat of Demons taking over London pulls her back. Can Cordelia and her friends put their personal relationships aside? Or will their friend group (the Merry Theives) be split forever? First, thank you to @kellireadsalot for buddy reading this one with me 🤗 I love the Shadowhunter world, so it's no surprise that I loved this book too. Cordelia is a fantastic and relatable heroine... her unrequited love with James had all the drama and wanted. And James best friend Matthew? A tortured bad boy with a heart of gold? How can I not love him? If you've read the 500 other Shadowhunter books, you'll have a lot of fun with all of the various references to the other series. I found Malcom Fade particularly interesting here... knowing what happens to him in other books. My only minor complaint is that not every character had the ending I wanted... but otherwise the plot moves along quite quickly and it's easy to breeze through this almost 800 page book. 📚Book Review - Rose Madder by Stephen King Rose Daniels has finally escaped from her abusive husband Norman. But trying to build a new life for herself is not easy... especially with Norman trying to find her. As a cop, Norman has many skills, and he's on a mission to make Rose pay for leaving him. Can Rose ever really hide from this monster? Or can she finally be free once and for all? This book was not fun to read... The trauma that Rose suffers from, both physically and mentally is something that real people actually go through. To me, that is more horrifying than any supernatural monster story. On top of that... we get a lot of the story from Norman's point of view. Being inside the head of an abuser... is also NOT a fun reading experience. Since King does such a good job with his characters, you really get to know Rose and Norman intimately, whether you want to or not. And then there's the ending... it was not what I wanted, and not what I expected. It introduced something supernatural into a story that is very grounded in reality. I was not a fan of that. They can't all be winners... but this may be my least favorite Stephen King book that I've read so far 😅 Have you read Rose Madder? Did you struggle with it?
