Last arrivals in my Le Mans Panorama… Pic 1 - Daniel Müller, son of the late Herbert Müller, was competing against a certain Ayrton da Silva in the Karting World Championship finals in Nivelles 1980! Pic 2,3 - I’ve noticed a raising star from news about a young Brazilian winning everything in the British Formel Ford championship. His name: Ayrton da Silva. On a Sunday morning in August 1982 I stole myself into the pits in Hockenheim into the last box with team Ensign. Ayrton drove past me and went on to win. Pic 4 - Ayrton watches down from the balcony into the direction of Roland… no explanation needed why. Pic 5 - Late Roland Ratzenberger was successful in Le Mans claiming P5 and class win with Toyota in 1993! He is comforting another Austrian talent gone too early: Jo Gartner. 1986 he lost his life around 3:00 on Sunday morning on the highspeed Hunaudiers supposedly due to a mechanical failure. Pic 6, 7 - Jo was so kind to write regularly a Formula 2 column for my own self-made racing magazine. He narrates in detail his motivation and first steps into racing. What a treasure. Pic 8 - How could I forget Jo Bonnier! Sadly he was lost during the 1972 race. Heini Mader, his mechanic who had already lost Jo Schlesser and Jo Siffert told me that he was never seen a car demolished like Bonnier’s. Heini continued Bonnier’s work by taking everything over creating his own factory that still exists today. Pic 9 - The Siffert box wouldn’t be complete without Philippe (here 24 years old) and Véronique (26 years), Joseph’s only children. Again, for us it is impossible to feel how it must be to grow up without the memory of one’s father but constantly being reminded of him and his heroism by everybody. Remembering Jo Gartner, who would have been 70 today. The young Austrian raced F1, F2, F3, sports cars and Touring cars (pictured at the Spa 24h in 1985). With Bob Akin and Hans-Joachim Stuck he won the Sebring 12 Hours in 1986. Sadly he died later that year in a high speed crash at Le Mans. Kalenderblatt 05/26: #onthisday 1923 fand das erste 24-Stunden-Rennen von Le Mans statt, ein Langstreckenrennen für Sportwagen, welches jährlich vom Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) veranstaltet wird. Dieser "Automobil-Club des Westens" ist der größte Automobilclub in Frankreich und bezieht sich namentlich auf die westliche Region des Landes. Das Rennen wird auf dem Circuit des 24 Heures südlich der Stadt ausgetragen, dessen Abschnitte außerhalb der Rennveranstaltungen als Landstraße genutzt werden. Ursprünglich reichte die Rennstrecke mit einer Rundenlänge von circa 17,3 km bis in die Innenstadt von Le Mans und wurde 1932 auf etwa den heutigen Verlauf mit etwa 13,5 km Länge gekürzt. Das Autorennen ist auch bekannt für seine lange Gerade, die „Ligne Droite des Hunaudières“ oder „Mulsanne Straight“, wie sie in England genannt wird. Dabei handelt es sich um eine nahezu fünf Kilometer lange Gerade, auf der vor 1990 Geschwindigkeiten von über 400 km/h erreicht wurden. Seither begrenzen zwei aus Sicherheitsgründen eingebaute Schikanen die Spitzengeschwindigkeit bei etwa 340 km/h. Der Auslöser für diese Maßnahme war unter anderem der tödliche Unfall des Österreichers Jo Gartner am 1. Juni 1986. After starting out in single-seaters with Formula 2, with Eddie Cheever winning three races in 1979, owner Enzo Osella opted to enter F1 from 1980, and it is remarkable the Italian team survived as long as it did through to 1990. Unable to attract major sponsors or drivers with a significant brand behind them, it was effectively run on a shoestring budget throughout, and as such was only able to accrue just seven points from 132 starts, while failing to qualify in an additional 40 races. They achieved two points finishes and scored 5 championship points between 1980 to 1990. Ainda sobre a "Festa dos 400" 🎉 -Comemoração da chegada dos 400 seguidores. -Esse é um pedido muito especial, feito por uma pessoa muito especial. -Hoje vamos falar sobre o início da carreira de Ayrton Senna. -Mais precisamente, os anos em que o nosso Tri-campeão correu pela inexpressiva Toleman. -Como a carreira do Ayrton foi muito rica, confesso que foi difícil fazer um recorte. -Ayrton Senna foi contratada pela Toleman em 1984. -Iniciou a temporada 1984 nas três primeiras corridas do campeonato pilotando o Monoposto "TG183B" Tendo Motorização Hart 415 L4 Turbo. Com o TG183B obteve os seguintes resultados abandonou no Brasil por problemas no turbo, conseguiu um memorável 6°lugar na África do Sul e na Bélgica e em San Marino não se qualificou. -Com o TG184 obteve os seguintes resultados, abandonou na França por problemas no turbo, terminou em segundo em Mônaco, sétimo no Canadá, abandonou em Detroit por acidente e Dallas por problemas na embreagem. Terceiro lugar na Grã-Bretanha, abandonou por causa de um acidente na Alemanha, Abandonou na Áustria por problemas na pressão do óleo, na Holanda o motivo foi o motor, o Grande Prêmio da Itália não disputou, o seu último abandono com o TG184 foi no Grande Prêmio da Europa. E por fim na última corrida em Portugal terminou em 3° colocado. #Kalenderblatt 05/26: #onthisday 1923 fand das erste #24StundenRennen von #LeMans statt, ein #Langstreckenrennen für #Sportwagen, welches jährlich vom Automobile Club de l’Ouest ( #ACO) veranstaltet wird. Dieser " #Automobil-Club des Westens" ist der größte #Automobilclub in #Frankreich und bezieht sich namentlich auf die westliche Region des Landes. Das #Rennen wird auf dem Circuit des 24 Heures südlich der Stadt ausgetragen, dessen Abschnitte außerhalb der Rennveranstaltungen als #Landstraße genutzt werden. Ursprünglich reichte die #Rennstrecke mit einer Rundenlänge von circa 17,3 km bis in die Innenstadt von Le Mans und wurde 1932 auf etwa den heutigen Verlauf mit etwa 13,5 km Länge gekürzt. Das #Autorennen ist auch bekannt für seine lange Gerade, die „Ligne Droite des Hunaudières“ oder „Mulsanne Straight“, wie sie in England genannt wird. Dabei handelt es sich um eine nahezu fünf Kilometer lange Gerade, auf der vor 1990 Geschwindigkeiten von über 400 km/h erreicht wurden. Seither begrenzen zwei aus Sicherheitsgründen eingebaute Schikanen die Spitzengeschwindigkeit bei etwa 340 km/h. Der Auslöser für diese Maßnahme war unter anderem der tödliche Unfall des Österreichers #JoGartner am 1. Juni 1986. Sein #Porsche962 kam mutmaßlich wegen einer gebrochenen Hinterradaufhängung mit über 300 km/h von der Strecke ab. Faisant figure de favoris, il se tuera au volant de sa #Porsche, heurtant une barrière de sécurité à plus de 260 km/h dans les #Hunaudières , le tuant sur le coup.
