Mattie Magnolia, you and I were made for Mommy and Me matching Lilly at the Beach! Having a Baby Girl has changed me in SO many ways I did not expect. I have rocked being a #boymom for going on 10 years now and I’m a sister to brothers. So, I truly did not know “what” to expect with a little Princess! One thing I’ve learned already in MM’s short 8 months on this earth is that I want her to LOVE herself! To look in the mirror and see HOW perfect she is…just the way she is….. As a 40 year old , older mom with an auto immune disease and not super “happy” with how I personally look in the mirror….well I’ve had to have some soul searching to do….. #lillypulitzer makes all these cute mommy and me matching sets, but guess what? They are not middle age, plump girl friendly….and…..I’ve had to make a choice! Suck it up and show my arms ( which I’ve NOT done since my 20s) and rock my mommy tummy- or miss out on matching my girl! All the new patterns that have mommy and baby matching have been a little rough on my self esteem to say the least, but YOLO! My one and ONLY baby girl will only be a baby ONCE, so here I am! Trying my very best to enjoy the NOW, this moment and rock what I can while I have this body of mine that I’m so very grateful for….I had 4 c-sections to FOUR healthy babies! I’m SO very blessed!
