Went to see the stream of the wonderful @guycomusic and friends. Yes friends, i did cover his raid song in my own way. I guess Guy did not see this video. The ending of my "Funk Heroes" cartoon which was inspired by him, #mattsuarezmusic, @bigchilichill, and others features in more parts of the cartoon. They all appear in the cartoon as characters. In this ending part, you do hear Guy's raid song, "share some love." Also, as Guy does, I narrate the charge to share it. At the end, you see where I put Guy, Matt and Chili on the stage together just as we would know they would want to be. Just experimenting with some art. Not a pro job. Just fun stuff to honor our inspirational people.

It’s a been a very long time since I’ve put out new music, I believe “Wait’n Up” was the last song I put out and it was in 2020 when the pandemic first enslaved us to our homes. We’ve all learned (hopefully) a great deal about ourselves and have had to pivot (see what I did there @electriclouieland @omarlopezbass @__tone__ 😂) to survive, make life better, etc. With that said, lots of us have had to learn new traits because financially it’s just not feasible to outsource much anymore. So in turn, one of the things I’ve turned to learning to cut costs is to engineer/produce/record my own music to put out for everyone. I’m slowly learning to build my own process with this and grow better each week, now there’s a long road ahead haha but I’m confident these tunes will keep getting better. As many of you know by now, one of my “pivots” in life is I’ve become a music streamer on @twitch where I was offered and accepted a Partner contract (Jan 7th) after two hard working years on the platform. Last nights music stream cultivated a conversation about putting music out and the lack there of sometimes due to not having finances to send tunes off to folks who “know what they’re doing” to turn it into gold. Or even sometimes just overthinking the production of them so much that it will “never be done” well enough so it never gets put out, like it’s on a constant delay. Well that lead to a Poll and vote from my community and that result brings us to this post, NEW MUSIC IS HERE!! Im putting out my first single completely written, engineered, produced and recorded by myself 🎉🎶 I hope y’all enjoy it and I promise the production will keep getting better as I grow and learn this craft. There have been so many lessons learned and hats worn in the last few years it’s hard to keep track some days, most by necessity. Nowadays it’s just simply fun to work at these traits 🙌 and prior to this, all I could do was send an email (sometimes properly lol) 😂 some examples: producing my own music, videography, lighting, design, programming, etc… At first these things were such a burden due to my ignorance but now I find it hard to pull myself out of the studio even though I know I should get to sleep (“don’t do Midi kids!!” - @guycomusic 😂) 🤦♂️🙌 so I was fumbling around in the studio the other night after my live stream on @twitch and found myself working on some of my camera sliders and also some fun plugins in @ableton. There are still a few glitches to fix but man is it fun! It’s completely surreal and definitely a bit mind boggling what has transpired during this journey the last 2yrs on @twitch. First I became an affiliate of Twitch and on January 7th I became a Partner, there are roughly only 27,000 Partners out of 9+million streamers on the platform. That’s just crazy haha….I don’t give myself enough credit most times but this is one sank in yesterday…I couldn’t be more proud of this journey, I couldn’t be more proud of myself for continuing to see it through. The last two years have been a blunder at best for so many, especially for artists. We’ve been thrown under the bus, stripped of our work and outcasted one way or the other for speaking our minds through songs or otherwise. While the whole time being leaned on for comfort, solace, escape, love, hate, etc…whatever your emotional responses have been, they have been comforted by art. By Music. I’ve written a lot during this time and overall have written a lot during life in the “before times” and during the course of this pandemic I’ve had to learn quite a few new traits, especially due to the necessity of live streaming music. So with that said, I’ve decided to release some music I’ve written over the years. Just a few weeks left in SLO County before I head home to WA for the winter, what a journey of a work season it’s been. What a journey it’s been period lol…Ups and downs and everything in between, to be honest I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet. Maybe when I get home and have time to reflect I’ll get some songs out of it. Most people on this platform just post the good or exciting highlights of their lives, that’s cool and all but it’s not reality. Reality is the flaws, the grey area, where most people live, like the mistakes I made playing this tune haha . . I feel like I’ve given more to this season than any other I’ve ever had, I don’t know if I’ve worked more or invested more of myself but I find myself really exhausted for the last few weeks and I’m ready for some rest. I’m not sure if the general person understands the journey a musician takes and just how much is given, to put yourself out there emotionally for everyone else while being judged every 5mins at the end of a song(or even during sometimes).. it’s a wild ride to say the least and I’ve done my very best while having sang 7 days a week for the last two years straight(between live shows and live streams) to survive 🖤🎶 . . I know I haven’t seen many of you over the course of the summer but maybe I’ll pick a day and go out for one night of being a hooligan before I leave, my liver could use a little awakening I suppose. I wish I could’ve had more time to hangout this summer, but that’s the way it goes. These last few weeks or maybe even months have had a looming dark veil attached to them for reasons I couldn’t decipher, when that happens I fall into the arms of the music that conveys or comforts the deepest parts of me I don’t enjoy looking in the face or even speaking them aloud to my friends. When I first learned this song I had no idea it would become such a staple within my Twitch community, it certainly has and it couldn’t be more fitting I suppose. What an inspiring few weeks to say the least, I feel like I’m catching a stride I haven’t felt in quite some time. Being open to possibilities, self awareness and especially being vulnerable is so hard to balance, maybe even more so during the climate that the world is in at the moment. I’ve been letting go a lot lately and writing constantly, some of the most meaningful music to me has come out recently and I couldn’t be more excited honestly. I had a long lull of sorts for a while with writing, maybe there is too much to absorb and it takes time. I’m glad some of it is finally making its way to the forefront of my mind and onto paper(or whatever digital version of paper kids use these days lulz) sort of speak 🖊 📄 💻 so much new music coming as the months go on, I promise you that 💪 . . After a year of being bed ridden by vertigo caused by crippling severe anxiety, I sat up for the first time without being nauseous or too dizzy and played my guitar (which hadn’t been touched in over a year due to my symptoms) and I wrote this song. I can’t tell you how deep the depression was prior because of not being able to play my guitar or perform, I’ve been a full time musician for almost 16yrs so you can imagine the journey it was being knocked off stage for 2.5yrs in total. This was my love song to music, now I’m not religious but if I was than music would be my beacon of safety and faith. There are many great bands and or songs that have left an imprint on my life, many time capsules in some teeny tiny moments and or huge moments that left scars, a stain, or blessings in a memory of some sort. I don’t think another band has left more for me in so many aspects of my life than Silverchair, for better for worse they were always there. Like when my father had his first stroke, I got the call from my mother while listening to “After All These Years”, or how “Tomorrow” will always remind me of late nights with my late friend Jesse Rosales (I’ll always be your token hahaha)…it also reminds me of my first serious band with @albertjrband & @omarlopezbass (those were some crazy tired drives 🤦♂️🙌)…But this song in particular is a brighter moment and this is the best performance of it in my humble opinion 🙌 I remember sitting with @marsattack8 & @stu_jitsu760 when we found this performance online and Daniel hit “the note” Hahhaha we must’ve watched it a thousands time’s after that….I tried(and still try) to hit that note soooooo many times 😂 and thousands since…this song takes on new meaning every year but it certainly reminds me of the people I love, have loved and those to come, thank you @danieljohnshq @bengillies888 and Chris Joannou for your art.
