The hostel was clean & had a cool style/decor. However, it was very quiet, great if you want to chill but not the most social. We’ve had a super couple of days in Dalat! 🫶 Lisa left us on Sunday :( so on Monday we moved up to Dalat which is quite a small town in comparison to Saigon and MUCH more cooler and less humid that’s for sure!! 🙏 Yesterday we spent the day exploring around the town and we went to the maze bar, such a cool little attraction that was free to enter as long as you brought a drink! This was quite cool as it was all made out of stone, really good sculptures and really fun to get around without getting lost! 😌 Today we rented a moped for the first time in ages for only £3 which is just crazy! Might’ve been falling apart but got us to where we needed to be so that’s all that matters! 🫣🤣 In the morning we went to Clay Tunnel which is a park with lots of different sculptures! From animals to cars to even a section about covid which we found quite funny as they’d tried making germs into people🦠 lol! Obviously had to have the obligatory silly pictures 🦢 🍔 Then afterwards we had a fab time at the Datanla Alpine Coaster! Soo fast once you get going - we were stuck behind an older couple who kept stopping and starting to begin with so we were a bit slower but once we got on the second part we properly went for it and it was such great fun! Whilst waiting in the line a beautiful little butterfly was obsessed with Reece & it even landed on my shorts and then climbed onto Reece’s hand!🎢 🦋 Really is lovely here, we’ve both said it doesn’t feel like we’re in Vietnam as it’s just such a difference between what we’ve seen for the last two weeks! DAY 7🇻🇳 A completely crazy but at the same time unique day! First I went to the Crasy House... it lives up to its name! I felt like I had fallen straight into a storybook #incredible I then took the scooter (I’m a decent passenger now) to Clay City in the mountains outside Da Lat. Of course I had to take an obligatory tourist photo with the stone faces here 🤭 After a wonderful family meal in my hostel @dalatbackpackersalley (highly recommended!!!) we went to the Maze Bar and then I fell into my bed happy and content because my bus left early in the morning for Ho Chi Minh. Ein vollkommen verrückter, aber zugleich einzigartiger Tag! Zuerst war ich im Crasy Haus … es wird seinem Namen wirklich gerecht! Ich habe mich gefühlt, als wäre ich direkt in ein Märchenbuch gefallen #unglaublich Danach ging es mit dem Scooter (bin inzwischen eine passable Beifahrerin) zu der Clay City in die Berge außerhalb von Da Lat. Day 29 - Da lat, Vietnam 🇻🇳 Our first day exploring Da Lat started with a a trip across the city to the very popular crazy house, where the name lived up to it reputation. Via Quy Nhon en Nha Trang zijn we langs de kust 🏖️ doorgereisd naar het verder landinwaarts gelegen Dalat 🇻🇳 In Quy Nhon en Nha Trang waren tussenstops 🛑 waar we de zogenaamde Cham Tempels als de Thap Doi en Po Nagar torens hebben bekeken 😍 In Dalat verbleven we in een familiehotel met een superaardige eigenaar 👍. Vanuit hier zijn we maar weer eens met de scooter 🛵 op pad gegaan. We hebben onder andere een rondje ⭕️ gemaakt rondom het Tuyen Lam-meer 💧en de Datanla, Elephant en Pongour 😍 watervallen 💦 bezocht. In between getting lost in the Crazy House and in the Maze Bar we somehow managed to catch yet another sunset #nevermissasunset 🌅 AND plan the next steps in our journey lol Good that we had an ironclad voice activated location system to help us finding each other. Day 182 - Part 1 / Tour of De Lat - Cable car, temples, alpine coaster etc. 🚠🎢🌺🍓❤️ We booked onto a tour of the city today which cost 💰450,000 VND / £15 each, but you could also do it yourself with a moped! Our first stop was📍Da Lat Cable Car this was actually so nice, it was extra & cost 💰100K VND / £3.30 each. The view was beautiful, just was very random! 🚠 The end of the cable car brought us to a temple complex, 📍Tinh Tam Lake - Truc Lam Zen Monastery, it was so pretty, there were so many beautiful flowers! 🌺 The next stop was the📍Dalanta New Alpine Coaster which was so much fun!! It cost 💰 200K VND / £6.50 each we did have to wait in line for a little as it’s quite a busy place but was so worth it! The coaster was actually quite long, Ty controlled it and once you reach the bottom there’s a stunning waterfall 🥰 You get off and we had lots of photos here & then you queue up to get back on the coaster & we were brought back to the start! I was particularly excited by this stop as it was at a📍Strawberry Farm 🍓 which are my fave !! Day 181 / Beach walk Nha Trang, Coach to Da Lat & Maze Bar ! 🏝️🚌🍺🧡 We got up this morning, packed, had breakfast at the hotel & then went for a lovely beach walk along promenade in Nha Trang, it was such a gorgeous day 🌞 Couldn’t resist a cheeky gelato before we left 🍨 Then had check out & wait for our coach 🚌 to📍Da Lat it took just over 3 hours, we love the sleeper coaches, they are so comfy!! 🥰 got some popcorn as a snack 🍿 Once arrived we checked into our hotel & then got ready to get some dinner! We ended up at a place that did a lot of pub classics so we both had the bangers and mash 😍 then from here we walked up to the famous📍Maze Bar !! We have been so excited to visit here as it’s a really cool & quirky bar with so many rooms and corridors like a maze all the way to the rooftop! Da Lat Part 1 - 15th May 2023 We had to split this post into 3 because we took loads of photos of this weird little place 😂 We arrived at our accommodation at 5am after the Sleeper Bus driver drove like he was applying for F1 racing 🚌💨 Luckily our room was available and we slept until around 10am. We were both starving when we woke up so grabbed some lunch then headed to The Crazy House which is exactly what it sounds like! This house was designed by a Vietnamese Architect Dang Viet Nga and is full of spiral staircases, odd shaped rooms, bright colours and narrow bridges. It’s 40,000 Dong PP entry fee (£1.20) and is a fun way to spend a few hours and take some photos. You can even stay here through booking.com 😏 We jumped in a Grab back to the accommodation and headed out for some Mexican food which was delicious and had 2 live parrots chilling in the corner of the restaurant🦜 We then made a short walk to The Maze Bar. Entry is free although you have to purchase a drink so we grabbed two beers and explored 🍻 It’s easy to get lost in this place (especially if you’ve had a few drinks). You find yourself going up and down small walkways and squeezing through small gaps in the walls to then come out into more bars on different levels. It’s something definitely worth a visit and great to take some photos with the odd decor inside. 📍Dalat, Vietnam 🎒 What a weird and wonderful city. We didn’t know what to expect of Dalat, it’s sort of like a French Alpine resort mixed with the best of a Vietnamese city. Before we set off locals were telling us to make sure we have warm clothes as it’s high up and gets very cold. It’s mad that we arrived and saw people wrapped up in hats, scarves and thick coats in 23 degree temperatures. That’s our English summer 😅. Although some of the places were a little gimmicky, we did like the uniqueness of Dalat. 🏚️ Crazy House (50,000VND/£1.70pp) 🍸Maze Bar (Price of a drink) - By far the strangest bar we’ve ever been too. Weave your way up stairs, into rooms and through small gaps until you reach the garden at the top. 🦢Hire a swan boat to pedal around Than Tho lake. Crazy House and Maze Bar both lived up to their names 🤪 They both fitted in with the vibe we got from Dalat - lots of weird and wonderful things to take pictures with 😅📸 Crazy House was designed by a Vietnamese architect Đặng Việt Nga. She believed that in the past century too much damage had come to nature and the environment in not just Vietnam, but the world, so she wants her architecture lead us to come back to nature and to love it - a pretty deep message🌏💚 It is definitely more than just a building, and for 60,000VND (£2) each we thought it was definitely worth it to experience something different! One the evening, we visited the Maze Bar. Entry is a drink each, there’s the usuals to choose from but you just have to consider what you want to crawl through tight spaces with - a glass of wine probs wouldn’t be the wisest of choices🍷🤣 It’s definitely the weirdest bar we’ve ever been to! All the winding paths, narrow steps and dark passages that lead you to secluded little gardens with a view over the city made the slight claustrophobia worth it 😂 We have no clue how people even start to think of such things, never mind design and build them so hats off to them 👏 These were two of the things in Dalat that were definitely worth the hype they got! Is this the best bar ever? 🍸 It's really hard to describe the Maze Bar in Da Lat without underselling it. The bar is, seemingly, in one building with around 6 floors, but, as you wander through the different staircases, corridors, twists and turns, you'd swear there must be at least 10 different floors there. 😱 The whole place is also amazingly decorated and you could spend hours just walking around, absorbing it all. 🏺 Oh and it has a big garden (also with multiple levels, staircases and crazy decor) with awesome views of Da Lat. To get into the bar, you just have to buy a drink. Vietnam - day 16 - Da Lat… 26 hours in this mad city that started with the night bus arriving 1.5 hours ahead of schedule so a quick nap before heading to the Datanla Waterfall Alpine Coaster. A toboggan ride down to the base should be the way to access all waterfalls from now on! We then visited The Crazy House, which certainly lived up to its name! We definitely missed parts of this madness, and I’m not too sure how they came up with the design. One of the things I miss most about traveling is the flying-by-the-seat-of-your-pants decisions you make that end up leading to your favorite parts of the whole trip. Three years ago, I was in the middle of a two-month solo backpacking adventure through Southeast Asia (on my way to start my Working Holiday Visa in Australia). I’d planned every inch of my time in Singapore and Malaysia but since it was my second trip to Vietnam, I decided to just go with the flow. After visiting a friend in Ho Chi Minh City, I caught a cheap flight to Nah Trang, checked out the beach for a few days, and started asking around. Other backpackers raved about a place called DaLat three hours away by bus so I went for it. I booked a few nights at Mr. Happy’s Hostel and ended up staying a week. It was so lovely getting to know him, trying Vietnamese cooking lessons, touring this beautiful town in the country, temple hopping by motorbike (Mr. Happy drove), seeing Elephant Falls, singing karaoke with new friends from the hostel, and visiting Crazy House, a Dali-like arts complex. DAY 310 Today has without a doubt been one of the most awesome, albeit exhausting days we’ve had in a VERY long time 😅 We started the day by getting the Da Lat Cable Car 🚠 Then we walked a fair distance to the Datanla Alpine “Rollercoaster” which was SO much fun riding all the way down to the Datanla Waterfall 💧 We then took the rollercoaster back up to the top where we spent a few hours doing the High Ropes course which was undoubtedly the most mentally, physically and emotionally challenging thing I’ve perhaps ever done 😬 The adventure treetop thing is so freaking high up in the trees and SO difficult and strenuous and I actually had a panic attack on one of the sections as it was so intense 😥 However, that utter sense of relief and pride once I’d completed it was immense and such an incredible feeling to know I’d conquered any fears I had and absolutely smashed it 💪🏼 After that, we got the Cable Car back and then went for a delicious curry (my new favourite food) 😋 AND THEN we paid a visit to the coolest bar I’ve ever seen in my life which is also a maze and such a freaky but awesome place 😍 It’s safe to say that I need to sleep for 3 solid days after today’s antics but it was all so worth it for the incredible memories we made 🥰 SWIPE to see some highlight pictures from today and make sure you head over to my Instagram Stories for videos and a full run down on everything we did today! ✨ #imjustagirltravels

Continuing with the theme of surreal Da Lat architecture, the Maze Bar was another fun climb through mysterious twists and caverns on a search to find the party room at the top. So glad i hit on this expat-filled attraction- made friends with Dor and Yaara from Tel Aviv and the conversation flowed easily through many topics... looking forwards to visiting them one day! 🇻🇳🍷 Maze Bar in Da Lat. It's pretty hard to do this place justice. All organic lines, quaint decorations, mood lighting, ladders, nooks and crannies, and generally awesome craziness. You can literally get lost in here, and there are so many things you can bang your head against or trip over that I doubt it would have ever been allowed to open for business anywhere in Europe. It's awesome! The wall clock in the last photo is something I must have last seen over ten or fifteen years ago in Romania. 작년 크레이지하우스 갔을 때 좋았으나 아침 8시에 갔는데도 사람이 많아서 대신 간 곳 점심때 가면 사람이 없어서 전세내고 이용 할 수 있다고 하는데 저녁에도 사람이 없는 #메이즈바 #mazebar #mazebardalat ㅡ 겉보기에는 좁아보이는데 지하일층부터 아마 지상 6층까지 있다. 구글 후기처럼 화장실 한번 갔다오면 일행을 못 찾을거 같았다.밖이 안보여서인지 방향 감각이 없어서인지 갔던 곳을 다시가고 다시가고 해서 꼭대기층을 두번 갔다. 나는 여기가 크레이지 하우스 만큼 재밌었다. 테이블도 있고 화장실도 층마다 있고 콘센트도 많다. 사진을 못찍어서 별로일거 같지만 진짜 재밌다 #달랏야시장 구경후 가면 최소한의 움직임으로 갈 수 있다. #달랏여행 #베트남여행
