His uncle, the monk Dom Thierry Ruinart predicted the new „wine with bubbles“ would have a bright future. Check! It is in the core of winemakers to have a strong relation with nature. You can have kings and Celebrities for clients, without understanding and respecting nature you will have no product to please them. So Ruinart, like many others in the Champagne, is supporting environmental projects. The latest result of dealing with the conditions of climatechange is the new „Blanco Singulier“ from the 2019 harvest, a tough year. Ahead of the @galleryweekendberlin Ruinart-CEO Frederic Dufour invited to the opening of a little exhibition in a pop-up store @am.tacheles. I was totally hooked by the artwork of Dutch artist @thijs_biersteker , who created ( from recycled stuff) a kind of lightseismograph to highlight the virbrations a tree is sending. No, it is no longer odd to believe that trees can communicate with their surrounding. When in Venice.. part two. There not only the artworks of the contemporary @labiennale , that attract so many visitors coming. There are the probably even more precious craftsmen in the lagoon city, that preserve the old technics. One of them (few) is @saveriopastor , who is producing with just one young collegue ( the guy explaining) rows and rowlocks ( Forcola,) for the gondolas in the traditional way. Had a lovely evening in Berlin. Talking about icons. A topic near to my heart, as you can imagine, my friends. @volkswagen has a cool space round the corner of Brandenburg Gate called @drive.berlin , there they present an exhibition with so many iconic products ( not just cars from the own brands.., though the Käfer and the Bully are my favorites..)that one could spend some inspiring as sentimental hours there. It is open to public daily from 10 am until 7 pm until the end of this year. Don‘t miss. And try to resist the merchandiseshop..😂😂 I had the pleasure to host an enchanting opening talk to handsome Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkwagen AG , iconic @katarinawitt and the admired creative @abstractsunday . We talked about the healing power of iconic products and people and more aspects of this topic. And yes, we had fun, too. One of my favorite things about my job is all the amazing people I meet along the way and the roles coffee plays in their lives. This is Katherine, the Sicilian (don’t dare call her Italian) grandmother-of-the-bride. She shared with me about her life growing up in the Tampa area in a neighborhood of Cubans. Was at a „dangerous“ place this afternoon: the showroom of @brunellocucinelli_brand . It is always like coming home, nice people, good food waiting. And of course I like it a lot that @brunellocucinelli is celebrating print. We also believe in paper... 😇 And I loved the setting with typewriters. When I started 1981 at @welt , this was our tool. No smartphones in sight, not even a faxmachine.. From my first salary I bought a cashmere sweater. Not Cucinelli, he was in his beginnings, too. In July last year I more incidentally ( and almost the only non-Asian) joined a press conference in Paris ( last sequel) from @yoshikiofficial . He is s big star in Japan, an amazing musician, filling halls as well as drummer as at the piano. For him @hellokitty opened up their strict brand policy, there is a Yoshikitty line. As we know, creativity has no boarders, so as the son of a Kimono Producer and time to time designing, Yoshiko decided to found the Maison Yoshiki. Based in Paris, but the first showtime was on the first evening of Milan Fashion week in the @unibocconi . And yes, his „own“ champagne ( a cooperation with @champagnepommery ) was served after the show. I had a blast reuniting with everyone over a delicious lou hei dinner and enjoyed hearing about their celebrations and plans for the lunar new year. The new park is beautiful, offering a spacious and beautiful setting for community events like this. It was great to hear how excited everyone is about this new addition to the neighborhood. The evening was filled with warm conversations and laughter. I learned much about the fascinating history of Gardens NC and how it has transformed over time.
