Meet Craig Goodison – VWMC’s newest bass! “I was born in Toronto and raised in Brampton Ontario. Schooled in Toronto and Waterloo, I moved to Vancouver in 1987 and have enjoyed living on the west coast ever since. My hobbies include working out at the gym, walking, and studying technology such as Data Analysis and computer programming. I first started singing in my all-city public-school choir in grade 7. Though I didn’t pursue singing after high school, I am enjoying learning how to sing with VWMC, appreciating how much it takes to sing well! I enjoy the range and variety of songs in VWMC’s repertoire, ranging from Remembrance Day to Xmas to Valentines Day, and to the Celtic repertoire. Someday I will even learn to speak Welsh to sing the Welsh songs! Whatever songs we sing, I just want to make a positive contribution to our community, while creating a feeling of enjoyment and connection to our audiences. I enjoy visiting off-beat foodie and libation establishments. Family or mom and pop restaurants always entice me such as @redtruckbeer and Tomahawk Restaurant, or La Galleria Fine Foods in Edgemont Village for magnificent sandwiches! The coffee shops and micro brewing areas of Vancouver and North Vancouver are enjoyable too as I follow my quest for the world's best pilsner, IPA or some other new beer or ale. I am always investigating new establishments, so my pursuit continues.”

Earth Day🌍 It’s no secret, nature has always been a HUGE inspiration in all of my creative endeavours🥹 And even with a project as big as this visual album, it was still super important to me to prioritize minimizing environmental impact wherever possible!! Almost all of our costumes and props were borrowed, thrifted, or upcycled, and a lot were repurposed afterwards too! ✨Weathervane plans + thrifted sheets/curtains ✨Weathervane dress in action ✨Where is she (the skirt) now??? ✨Thrifted blanket being turned into a cape for The Archer ✨Add a few more layers with tablecloths, sweaters, and (you guessed it) the other part of the Weathervane skirt ✨Adding a few more thrifted pieces and we’re -20 ready! ✨The day we went to a Value Village in Victoria and ended up finding the perfect mirror that matched my vision for the album cover🥹 (nearly cried from joy) ✨Using natural dye (turmeric mostly) to create the kids costumes ✨Upcycling belts and felt for some kids accessories All that to say, I freakin love the Earth. This was an idea that kept growing and growing until it outgrew my brain and needed a way out, but it got SO many rejections along the way. Like I genuinely cannot even count how many funding bodies told me “no” over the two years of working on this. And each time hurt just as much as the time before (sometimes more!) The people in this booklet are the people who believed in this project enough to say “yes”. Despite the lack of funding. Despite how many moving parts there were. And despite me being a very small artist trying to pursue a very big first project. Every time I thought I was about to give up, or shelf the project, or reassess if this would even be worth it if we could do it, one of you gave me a “yes”. And each “yes” gave me hope and made me see that it was possible. That no matter what happened, it would all work out as it was meant to🌟 Thank you. All of you. Meet Stan Dueck, VWMC baritone! “I was born and raised in Winnipeg and received my engineering degree from the University of Manitoba before moving to Vancouver in 2000 to marry my (now) wife who was living here at the time. I spent half a decade working abroad and before returning (to Tsawwassen) in 2007. What's my favourite hobby? That's like asking which of my kids I love the most! I enjoy reading a wide variety of books, playing community drop-in soccer each week, and board games with friends and family. I have been singing ever since I was a kid, first in church, then in a children's choir. I have been singing ever since, though participation in organized choirs hit a bit of a lull in the past decade or so while my kids were younger. Prior to joining VWMC, I was able to scratch the "music itch" by participating in the occasional @deltayouththeatre musical productions that my kids have been a part of. On a nice summer’s afternoon, I could be found sitting in my backyard or taking a walk by the beach. Then we’d head out to a lovely local restaurant called @marioskitchendelta. I would recommend their BBQ Chicken Salad, Penne Pacifico, or their Meateor pizza, although you honestly can't really go wrong with anything on their menu.”

Meet David Tucker, VWMC’s newest Baritone! “Born in Llanelli, Wales and raised in colonial Africa, I came to Canada at 18 to study electrical engineering at University of Alberta where I met my wife, Brenda. We moved to Vancouver in the 80's and raised two kids in a condo on Fairview Slopes. My son Bren and I played rugby and squash, and I coached kids team sports at every level. We’re all about team, which is one reason I love singing with the boys of the VWMC. While I sang in my primary school choir, I hadn’t sung formally until last fall when I joined VWMC. It’s been fun learning the choir's varied repertoire. Right now, my favorite song is ‘Feeling Good’. On a nice summer's afternoon, Brenda and I can be found cycling the Vancouver seawall with frequent stops for drinks and snacks. Our favorite local restaurant is @vanfishco located at the entrance to Granville Island. It has a comfortable bar frequented by local characters and staffed with "real" people. Our favorite item on the menu? Succulent Salt Spring Island mussels with pork chorizo in a white wine sauce. The Guinness pours well and, in the winter, they make up a cauldron of delicious hot mulled wine - lovely.”
