Muzzle: 3/5 Going in blind, not seeing a single trailer or review reception. Those things have an upside and a downside to a viewing experience. Thankfully, this film has more ups than downs. Though it’s downs are crucial, ranging from a lack of focus on plot, uneven pacing, and being an overall forgettable film. The ups range from the performances (particularly Aaron Eckhart), a heartfelt message about loss and redemption, a decent final act, and a crowd-pleasing ending on top of some genuine gritty tension throughout. What we have here is one note characters that you do root for (despite flaws) and a one note plot that offers genuine tension, closure, well-handled pacing (with a few slow builds), fantastic acting all around, and a badass but rushed ending. Sadly, I could only see myself watching this as a one time viewing experience but it has more to offer to satisfy that viewing experience. Muzzle. 2023 (Movie) ⭐️ Synopsis: Following the death of his partner in the line of duty, a police officer struggles to connect with the new one while investigating the case. It was a routine street search for drugs and weapons that led to the shooting of Jake's (Aaron Eckhart) canine partner, Ace. Another officer had also been killed in the operation while the perpetrator managed to escape. Following the shooting, Jake was ordered to see a therapist for anger management because of his behaviour, while he also decided to get another dog to train and work it. That's how he met Socks. Socks was a well trained dog but had suffered some abuse as well, which made it a bit difficult for both of them to get along in the beginning. But eventually, they worked together to solve the case and catch the killer of Ace. So for all the dog lovers out there, this isn't a movie that's worth its bite. The story is quite straightforward but too safe to even arouse my curiosity, and I actually like dog movies. The casting was also good, but the characters were pretty boring and predictable. I wasn't particularly blown away by the movie because it lacked excitement, but it's still a decent one that the whole family could watch together. Hey everyone! If y’all like to watch action thriller movies, check out the feature film I got to work on titled, “Muzzle.” It’s about an LAPD officer Jake Rosser (Aaron Eckhart) and his partner Socks, a violent K-9 with titanium incisors and a mysterious past, and they aim to uncover a vast conspiracy that has a chokehold on the city. It’s now streaming on Apple TV and Amazon Prime and in select theaters across the nation. I was the Prop Master and I couldn’t be more proud of how the film turned out. As I watched, I noticed all of the things I contributed to throughout the film and all the great memories with the crew on set. Rad AF.
