This market was organised by Botanisk Hages Venner in this lovely Botanical Garden. They were selling arts and crafts, drinks and food. What a beautiful sunny 🌞 day it is today in Ålesund! My guests were tourists from the Queen Victoria cruise ship. October 🍂🍁 is the most beautiful time on the fjords, because you will never see such a variety of colors again. The tourists were from the USA, but had moved there from different places. As often happens, the guide’s monologue turns into a mutual conversation, because on a private excursion everyone is interested in personal stories, both about the guide and the guests. So we traveled through the islands of the ancient Vikings, interrupting to talk about the long-suffering Ukraine 🇺🇦 and Israel 🇮🇱, about Nazism, anti-Semitism and about Auschwitz, where the relatives of my guests died. My guests kept kosher, a set of dietary rules, and food prepared according to these rules is kosher. In Hebrew, the word “kosher” means “fit.” Oh, so many nuances you have to take into account and study when you work in the tourism industry with guests from all over the world 🌍 ! Before I put the Norwegian treats in my special basket 🧺 , I read which foods are kosher and it turned out that all the treats were suitable😊: salmon 🍣 with lompe, lefse and caramel cheese Brunost 👍 And after Alesund, guests head to Tromsø to admire the Northern Lights. Often seen around lots of big cities, it was the first time we actually tried them out as a family and they were so much fun. 🍦Macron topped softie at Pascals 👌 🎭 Visit the Munch museum. We were a little weary of visiting an art museum with lively kids but how wrong were we, they loved it. Before I’m leaving Stavanger area, I would like to tell you about the most challenging hike I have ever done 🤣 Looking back, I can only say I’m proud of us😂 So when @knga_ visited me, we weren’t lucky with the weather in Norway. I was dedicated to finally hike up to Kjeragbolten so we went 🤓not knowing that it’s one of the most challenging hikes in Norway 🤓 So we drove 2h to the place & started our hike in POURING rain. Even the person that was in the parking area checking all the tickets said that it’s going to be wet and miserable. We just laughed. Starting our hike was quite alright until we arrived on the top of the first mountain and my waterproof hiking shoes were soaked 😂 It became all very slippery descending the first mountain and I said I have to stop somewhere to dry my socks and shoes. Arriving on the top of the second mountain there was an emergency house where we somehow managed to make a fire and was able to dry my shoes as far as I could 😂 In the meantime we ate our sandwiches and laughed together, looking at all the other people passing by. 1,5h later we decided to move further. By this time we were on our way for like 3,5h already. One more mountain till we reach the rock, they said. Not knowing that arriving on the last mountain, pulling ourselves up with the help of the ropes, we had to walk a few km’s on the top of the mountain, on icy and snowy landscape. Finally when we arrived at the rock canyon where the rock is, we were super excited! We had to climb over huge rocks that were as big as us, we had 4 waterfalls pouring in our neck but at this point it didn’t matter. When the clouds moved a bit further, we finally saw the damn rock 😂😂 🪨 We took pictures quickly, enjoying the landscape wasn’t possible as we were up in the clouds. On the way back, I experienced that everything was even more slippery than I thought, I was scared for life. Finally when I saw the parking lot, I was so happy but that part was the most challenging one. Random people had to help me to get down because I slipped so many times, I was panicking 😂 Story further in the comments ⬇️

It’s our last week in the south of Norway and then…. We are moving, again 😂 Our plan is to move up to above the arctic circle for the winter season 🥶 ❄️ We’ll go up by car and make a lon g road trip out of it.
