A part of me still questions how I even got accepted into the school, let alone how I’ve lasted this long (1.5 yrs lol). And although I wasn’t able to perform in our December showcase due to being ill (in the cough cough kinda way but I’m also ill in the sickass kinda way), I’m grateful for what the fall and beginning of my second year has brought me. I still have lots to learn and lots to work on, but I truly think Dance Arts Institute is the place for me to do that, the place that has and will help me grow the most. 🌱 I’m also taking this post to give a huge shoutout and thank @nstalenttrust for yet again supporting my training this year. Just a couple weeks ago, I had the honour of being awarded the Robert George Jackson Award. NSTT has been such an important support for me, I can’t thank them enough for what they do for me and other artists from Nova Scotia. And thank you @kathdoherty for being at the ceremony in my place. You are one of my greatest inspirations, favourite teachers, and just a dancer person I hold very dear. This summer, through R.S.I Danceworks, I held a summer intensive for competitive dancers who wanted to improved their skills for the upcoming competition season. This was the first summer we did a program like this, and it was a blast. Dancers learned a new advanced combo every Monday night in various styles (Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theatre etc), and participated in a conditioning/technique class every Wednesday night, ALL SUMMER LONG! We ended all of their hard work with an amazing beach photoshoot with the lovely Rachel Dyer of Movita Beaucoup. These are some behind the scenes I took while Rachel worked her magic. I will share her stunning photos as soon as we receive them! These girls inspire me everyday, fill my heart and my life with so much fun!

Playing around with some poses with @moestly 💖 I have been dancing for as long as I can remember. It’s second nature to me. As I went through university and life got busy, it got away from me a little bit, and I feel so much happier now that it is back in my life. I am trying to find a balance between busy adult life and incorporating dance back into my daily routine, it’s been trial and error but worth every minute. Moving to music is so fundamental to human existence and dance can teach you so much about your soul 🤍
