When the goal became “less”. Most of my life I’ve worked for, strived for, yearned for “more”... More money, things, distractions, accolades, connections, titles, power, etc… I just spent several months in Mexico in a 300sq ft RV with my husband and our dog and found that I enjoyed (was even happier), with less. Less stimuli, less stress, fewer possessions, obligations, responsibilities, commitments, distractions and pressures. For the first time in my life I feel the need for “less” and it’s such a peaceful and freeing feeling. #livingwithless #openroadentrepreneurs #havingless #moreliving #freeing
One of the biggest realizations I had being in Baja for 3 months is that you DON’T have to answer emails, text messages or even calls right away and it’s OK! We didn’t have constant internet and sometimes not even cell service, so it would takes hours (or even a day or two) to get back to people. No business was lost, so catastrophe’s occurred, and people understood that we were in a different country and might not be available all day and night. It was hard at first, but after a couple of weeks we both felt much more calm and less bound to our electronics. Now back in the states I’m trying to keep this mindset and habit. It’s all about having boundaries and teaching others what to expect from you. If you don’t hear back from me right away - this is why. I haven’t posted much recently so I thought I’d update you all on what we’ve been up to. We are still in Los Cerritos (just south of Todos Santos. We surf everyday (Mike is just learning and I’m re-learning). We have both gotten busier with work - which has been great. Every few days we go and explore new beaches and areas. The whales are migrating right now so we see 10-20 whales every day (humpbacks and gray whales). We made it to La Paz (from Loreto) yesterday afternoon. About 30 miles from town we blew a tire on the 5th wheel. Fortunately there was a rare shoulder on that stretch of highway AND a small first road where we could pull even farther off the highway to safely change it. Mike had the tire changed in no time (I was so impressed) and went slowly drove into town on our not-so-great spare! La Paz is the biggest city in Baja so we’ll be able get some news tires and feel more confident about the rest of our trip! #openroadentrepreneurs #lapazbcs
