Ain't that the truth? We are constantly belittling ourselves, feeling as if we aren't doing enough, taking on too much, putting excessive pressure on ourselves. Yet, how often do we credit ourselves for all that we are already doing? We are mothers/fathers/brothers/sisters/children/friends/lovers/husbands/wives/entrepreneurs/employees/etc etc etc. We cook our families dinner, do the laundry, run businesses, work 9-5's, clean our homes. We gotta get to the gym or yoga, read, study, have hobbies, learn a craft, learn a new language. Then, we still gotta remember that we're human. We have emotions, have needs, we gotta take care of our physical bodies' needs, but also tend to our spiritual needs. Beautiful Souls, being human is a full-time job all on its own. Please, oh please, stop putting undue & unnecessary pressure on yourself to be a million things to a billion people. Slow down. Enjoy this process of being human. Take it all in instead of constantly allowing life to pass you by. And no matter what, remember that you are enough ❤️
Learning to be bored is a skill. 🐝 . I was sitting in me backyard today doing my ten minute mediation, as I opened my eyes these crows were doing theirs… Was really weird watching the crow karr ever so gently into the other crows ear all that I can think it would be is “Focus on your breath & have no judgement”… HuMmmM…. I mean KarrRr! . But getting real here stoping and allowing yourself to be bored from time to time by removing screen time be it tv, gaming, phones, licking windows, what ever screen is is, just doing something that involves some to no thought is a good way to expand your day. I hear “the worlds moving to quickly” far to often, it’s not really… it’s just the perceived consciousness from people constantly trying to achieve instead of chillin for a bit and enjoying what they’ve achieved…. Do you ever find yourself going from a to b, places to go, places to be? Straight to work, straight home. Go to the shops, go home. Yesterday I slowed down my walk home. I gifted myself time to pause. I wasn’t on a time schedule, I had nowhere to be and nowhere to go. I got to an open space and stopped. The birds were singing loudly. I stopped to listen. The sun was warm on my face, I stopped to feel it. There were people walking by, I stopped and said hello, I noticed what they were wearing, what their face was expressing. I had bought a drink from the shop, I allowed myself to really taste and appreciate the flavour. I was leaning on a stone wall, I touched the mossy edges and let my eyes close as let my fingers feel the different textures. I was here for 20 minutes or so, before I started my walk home. Feeling the benefits of slowing down and having a mindful moment that was just for me! #mindfulmoments #mindfulness #slowdown

Today I want to talk about time. I honestly thought that through my life I was using my time in life wisely and getting things done but in all honesty I was trying to look like I was doing things but I was spinning my wheels. Tonight’s dinner: I made some yogurt flatbread using just a few ingredients and then topped it with yogurt, tomatoes (definitely will be better once they’re in season), a chimichurri-esque sauce, + poached eggs. For the yogurt flatbread: 1 cup oat flour 1/2 cup Greek yogurt 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking powder Combine ingredients in a small bowl. Stir until everything comes together and forms a ball of dough. Divide the dough into two portions. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin (sprinkle a little extra oat flour if you need to prevent it from sticking). Heat a medium skillet with olive oil. Once the oil is heated then place the dough in the pan and allow it to cook for about 3 minutes on one side and then flip it over. After it has finished cooking in the second side remove it from the pan and top it with all the goodies.
