“Overlooked” Today I present an oldie photo of Mount Hood that I shot years back while re exploring an area that was previously lightly scouted months before. In other news, I have been working on some new old photos from over the years, so I be posting some new stuff sometime in the future. My process is a little weird with working on photos and it often takes a long while to get them finished, It is hard for me to spit out new photos as I like to take my time with them and work on them here and there style over weeks, months, and sometimes years really plus sometimes I rework photos on top of the new ones. Pretty much, I shoot shoot & collect them because the experiences are my main focus vs creating content. Something that I’ve discovered about myself and photography is that for the first time since I ever picked up a camera, I feel like I know what I want to photograph… and surprisingly, even to myself, it’s sports. It was sad to leave our broken-legged son home with grandparents, but Gary got back on a snowboard for the first time in over five years. It was a gorgeous day at Timberline with incredible views above the clouds. We all had a fun time together and with Maddy’s friends. I revisited the spot where August fell and broke his leg a couple of weeks prior; not as fun to relive those awful moments. Spotted a couple splitboarders coming down from their tour of the Devil's Kitchen during our ascent a few weeks ago. We often remark at our cameras inability to capture the scale of much of the terrain we find ourselves in, but with Crater Rock dwarfing these two, that is certainly not the case here. With all the weather blowing through, it's difficult to picture even more mountain behind this scene, but the rest of the Mt Hood summit paints the background and stands almost 700' higher!
