We finally decided on a sofa! We’ve gone for the Country Living Woodstock range from @dfs and we can’t wait til they arrive! Us nanerooos have been ON A BREEEAK. Took the week off last week to visit the grandchildren. What a week. Utterly shamed ourselves with all the gin. I caught the other nana chopping up lines of talcum powder on the back of her youngest grandchild’s iPad. 3am and 3 sheets to the wind, she was found lying facedown in the Begonias. Sorry for the silence everyone, life’s just been super demanding for us recently, along with making our house a home! Wow we've had a busy couple of weeks, barely a moment to post anything 🙈 We're slowly making our house a home, and we absolutely love our en-suite! We opted for some nice light tiles with a feature wall, and upgraded to chrome tile trims to really bring it together, and love the end result😍 We've added a little plant from my old flat (which needs a few more leaves 😂) and our taped blinds. Once we had the right screws and plugs (they came with wood ones not plasterboard ones), they went up fairly easily 😊 We went for faux wood blinds in glacier white and linen, and decided to start with fitting the living room first. Faith's bedroom inspiration, the eggchair and lampshade are both from @wayfairuk It's nearly ready for the decorator to come in next week. A few snags left to do. The carpet is coming out and new @karndean_uk flooring going down. I had to reign her in from wanting floor to ceiling teal and purple. A month ago I seriously couldn't see us getting to this point! I love this little alcove which is where we broke through from the old existing kitchen to the barn, swipe for before and after photos. We thought that the barn and the house were the same level but in fact they are not so there’s a small brick step which adds to the character. I love the beams and the top beam in the alcove was the original window lintel so pretty old, possibly 1700s when cottage ended at that wall before the barn was built. It’s FRIDAY! Time to pop some bottles 🍾🥂🥃🍹🍾 . We have a bar! I’m not sure we ever discussed this, but came home one day to find that a bar has been created in our first lounge... . I wasn’t sure at first, but have grown to love it. Our first lounge is going to be used as more formal lounge (once we actually sort the second lounge out), so this works well with the overall theme! . Been stripping the final room upstairs and it was full of painted anaglypta wallpaper which was pretty horrendous to remove. We broke onto site and managed to see the front of the house we’ve exchanged on for the very first time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ok so we didn’t exactly break in - the lovely chap laying the paving told us to walk through. And as soon as we crossed the line, told us that he hadn’t told us we could. But it was so worth it, to get this shot. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We were meant to be in here by May. But with Covid we’re now delayed until Sept/Oct 2020. Which is quite unfortunately after our mortgage offer expires in August. Our lender is now FINALLY considering extensions, so although nothing is final, and we haven’t yet officially completed, we are still looking at this house as ours until someone tells us it can’t be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Anyway, that’s it from me today! Our new 4-Bed Surrey home (fingers well and truly tightly crossed - and I’d seriously appreciate it if you all did the same too please).

Breakthrough - been quiet as we’ve been playing the waiting game. The replacement shower door took 2 weeks to finally arrive so we can crack on with the bathroom- we have almost finished the spare bedroom (in the pic) but it’s nowhere near insta worthy because we will be moving in there temporarily whilst we do the master bedroom! Well that was one of the best Good Friday’s in the history of Good Friday’s despite lockdown weirdness. Here’s why... . Spent the morning in the tipi, lush. My lovely friend @funkeemonkey1 sent Wren a colouring in picture for Easter (so thoughtful) 🐣 We went for the lushest walk together (with no other humans in sight). Wren made Easter cards and we pushed them through the neighbours doors to make them smile 🐣 Our elderly neighbours son gave us a daffodil pot for being so kind to his elderly mum throughout all of this (shopping, cards, pictures, regularly tapping on the window and waving with Wren with a thumbs up to check she’s ok) 🌼 I organised a surprise zoom call for my bestie @julieaitchison as she spent her birthday in lockdown 🎥 , oh and finally, gin was consumed 🍷 obvs. . All in all, a mint day.
