After we took @lisabardot ‘s skillshare class on how to do digital stained glass art, I knew we had to try to apply the techniques to a repeat pattern. Just like with the mosaic pattern, it was really challenging, but it turned out SO GOOD. If you search for “stained glass phone case” on etsy, the vast majority of results you’ll get are designs that were AI-generated. Not so with this design! All the texture is from actual high quality photographs of real pieces of glass, the lines are handdrawn by me in ProCreate, and the colors and shading were manually adjusted on my iPad. I absolutely love the striking colors of this pattern. Inchworms I have been painting and sketching several flowers including daffodils and tulips. When looking through my photos last week I came across these 2 photos and wanted to share it with you. Last summer when I was taking photos of flowers in my garden, I was surprised to see a couple of Inchworms crawling up the stems of my flowers. I slowed down and took the time to watch how they crawled up the flower and ate the nectar. It was amazing to watch. Inchworms belong to a family of moths called geometers and feed largely on flowers and native trees and shrubs. They are caterpillars that have legs at both ends of their bodies and none in the middle. This makes them look odd when they move, shifting first one end and then the other, which has the effect of making them arch their bodies as they go. Fun Facts about inchworms: • Two to four weeks after emerging as an inchworm, the larvae prepares to turn into an adult moth. • Inchworms can spin silk similar to what a spider makes. When danger approaches they can drop quickly from the leaves they are feeding on and hang from the end of a silken strand. • Inchworms are about 1 in. (2.5 cm) long. • They are green, brown, or black. Slow down and explore the beauty in nature, and you will discover small hidden treasures.
