Sign the petition and CALL CA representatives to pressure them to pass AB 2236 and get plastic bags gone! Yay for the environment! BUT retailers and plastic bag makers circumvented it by making THICKER plastic bags they say are ‘multi-use’. Instead of reducing plastic into landfills, it has INCREASED because of the heavier bags! There is a new state bill to fix the loophole to our plastic bag ban. It comes out of committee May 17 and must hit the floor for a vote by May 31 or it’s dead. We can’t have that happen! The action is to sign the online petition and call some/all of the state lawmakers to tell them to get it passed before the end of May. Ours (Zbur and Allen) are already way on board.
