I gave relatively minimal attention to yesterday’s Solar Eclipse on this platform because I wanted it to pass before sharing my personal reflections. For me, this Eclipse symbolized DIVINE UNION WITH SELF. The end of a mourning & grieving period that has left me so raw and forever changed. The beginning of a lighter space for my soul & heart to dance in again. For me, this blessed celestial union of the Moon & Sun Spirits, of Yin and Yang, represented the total rebalancing that has occurred within me. And ultimately a RETURN TO THE LIGHT. And so yesterday, under that sun, I became still, listening only to the sound of my soul echoing in the crashing waves. Then I played my bowls & drummed prayers to the Sky Spirits as the time of the Eclipse approached. I felt the deep releasing of so much fear & pain. My son Arrow played close by and captured these first two images, then my phone mysteriously shut off as soon as the Eclipse began (of course). So I just held him tight in our blankets and anchored into every sight, sound, & smell of the present moment. We breathed together. We just were. He was born 7 years ago in 2017, the year of the last total Solar Eclipse in North America, which somehow felt significant for both of us although I haven’t fully unpacked that yet. There is no rush. I am learning to be patient and fully present in all the unfoldings….THE SPACES BETWEEN. The intensity of the collective energy leading up to the Eclipse all seemed to dissipate at once like a big exhale. As if maybe I’m not the only one who experienced this celestial event as a total inner recalibration toward the light, with the moon’s passage across the sun reminding us that only through the embracing of and aligning with the dark, can we truly know our light on the other side. Sometimes it requires the momentary eclipsing of our light, to return to full illumination and deep self union.
