And HANNAH DOLSON joining Mac for a few numbers!! Mac is a 24 year old teacher with a passion for entertaining. Mac has always enjoyed and taken part in Norfolk’s vibrant artistic community, whether that be on the community stage, busking in a local park, or singing in local brewery’s. Mac plays a variety of styles and genres so is sure you’ll hear one of your favourites in his set! Hannah is a 25 year old singer, born and raised in Simcoe. Hannah dabbles in musical theatre in her spare time, and in her live performances, vintagely-stylizes covers of both classic and new songs alike. She’s played at the Lynn River Music and Arts Festival/Friendship Festival, South Coast Jazz, Cornstock (Birdtown Jamboree), Summerfest, and even was a finalist in Norfolk Has Talent. She also recently starred in two 2023 Simcoe Little Theatre productions; as Roxie in “Race Day” and Betty Haynes in “White Christmas”. She is, as always, excited to be out performing again! Friday saw an amazing addition to our gardens at Riversyde 83! Thanks to Sherry Black-Shrubb and Sarah Judd at Meadow Lynn Market Garden & CSA, many native plant species have found their new home in our soil! Our passionate garden volunteers Janet and Tim were thrilled to help with the planting. This pollinator garden will provide a habitat for pollinators and wildlife. We look forward to hosting bees, butterflies, insects and birds in coming seasons. This was made possible by Henry Sietzema who donated beehives from his asparagus crop, and Sarah distributed them for a donation, which then was used to purchase these native species for this planting. John is our VOLUNTEER of the WEEK. 🥳 Words can’t describe John’s commitment to the Riversyde 83 renovation project. As a fully licensed electrician, he has clocked countless volunteer hours, taking the lead role in managing every aspect of electrical installations since reconstruction began. John knows the electrical drawings inside-out, has installed the new 200Amp–600Volt–3Phase electrical upgrade, run wires and conduit all throughout the building, hooked up lights, switches and receptacles, and is now making final preparation for installation of kitchen equipment in the soon to be community kitchens. With his keen eye and attention to detail, John is helping to ensure excellence for future function and efficiency. Today Aaron & Julianna had the pleasure of meeting with Eric from Church Out Serving in Simcoe. CTM was able to donate $2500.00 to support their Emergency Food Response hampers going to those in our communities being affected by Covid-19. Church out serving is helping out anyone in need during this ongoing pandemic. This week alone they were able to deliver 78 baskets to families in Norfolk and Haldimand. "Church Out Serving works alongside local charities and organizations that provide services to our community, including Haldimand and Norfolk Health and Social Services, Children’s Aid Society, Haldimand Norfolk Women’s Services, Canadian Mental Health, REACH, Saint Vincent de Paul, Knights of Columbus, and more…" Eric was able to talk to us about all they have planned for their building in Simcoe, their community food hub will be an amazing addition to downtown.
